The story of Father Bannon is quite interesting. He was an Irish priest in St. Louis, a Confederate chaplain who worked on the front lines, a diplomat who traveled back to Ireland to discourage his fellow Irishmen from joining the Union forces, and then a Jesuit preacher and leader in Ireland.

i enjoyed reading the book about Father John B. Chaplain and learning about history of Warrensburg Missouri, where I attended college. The author gave a very Informative and very detailed history of Father Bannon.
