Jag tror eventuellt inte att det här är rätt bok... men det är samma framsida och min heter "Om julen de bästa berättelserna" så det fick duga som representation...

Det är en samling av noveller och utdrag ur romaner som alla utspelar sig under julen. En del var riktigt mysiga, Viktor Rydberg var mysigast. Medan en del försvinner så fort jag börjat på nästa. Julstämning? Oftast. Spännande läsning? Mjä. Men absolut mysig och ändå roligt att kunna säga att man läst något litet av både Anton Tjechov, Selma Lagerlöf och sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I grew up reading Ideals publications. Our family had quite a few of their magazines (as lovely as quality books, except for the hard paper covers) and other publications, and I loved the beautiful illustrations,photos, essays, quotes, and poems. Looking back, I realize that some of the poetry was a bit on the sweet and bland side, but as kid I loved it. Those Ideals really put me in the holiday spirit, whether the holiday was Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Halloween, or Christmas. My mom gave me some of her magazines many years ago, and they're still holiday favorites. They're so old-fashioned and really take me back in time.

Anyway...I noticed that this book is an Ideals/Guideposts publication. Interesting. This is a hardback book, which my daughter and I spotted at a store in Texas and couldn't resist because it was so cheap. It's got a little bit of everything: beautiful photos and illustrations, songs, stories, quotes, scriptures, and information about traditions. It's a great book for picking up and reading just a bit at a time.
