Campin' and Computin': A Basic Guide for RV'ers New to Computers

Rate this book
This is the second edition of my book which I wrote for RV'ers with computers. It's one of those books that everyone will get something out of. If you are new to computers or a veteran computer user, this book will be a valuable resource. If you were given a computer by your family but you are not quite sure what to do with it or how to use it, this book is for you! If you have been using computers for years but not familiar with maintenance tasks such as backups, defragmenting, this book will be a great help. This second edition contains information about how to use Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. It also has an appendix to show how to do all the tasks needed in Windows XP as well. The information in the book is presented in the format of parallels with the RVing life style. For instance, the way information is retrieved from a hard drive of your computer is compared to a recipe card index. Some of the topics covered in the book include but are not limited What makes up a computer (what are all the parts), what should you expect to pay for accessories, how to manage music files, how to manage picture files, how to back up your hard drive, how to protect your computer from viruses and how to protect your computer from a power surges. It also discusses other precautions to take in winter conditions. This book, filled with over 100 pictures, will give you all you need to know about a wide range of topics when it comes to picking and operating our personal computer. You might also like to check out my second book 'Tools for your office on wheels' if you want to use Microsoft Office. Happy camping! Eric Anderson
