Return to Hopewell
Book 1: Vet to the Rescue Book 2: Love Finds a Family
After graduating from Yale University, Tracy Kelleher spent the next few years working in Italy. She returned to the United States to study medieval history in graduate school at Cornell University, but decided that academic life was not for her. She migrated to the Big Apple, where she worked at an advertising agency. Fast-forward through marriage, two children, one dog, and freelance writing for newspapers and magazines. After her children entered school, she became a staff newspaper reporter and later the communications director for a non-profit organization that mediated disputes in Central and Eastern Europe. Eventually she returned to publishing as a magazine editor. Tracy sold her first romance to Kensington while she was a reporter and finally quit her day job after she found a home writing at Harlequin. Tracy values the flexible lifestyle that writing affords her. She has carried her laptop across three continents and swears that having to write in places such as Australia and Southern France has not hindered her ability to focus on her work. She currently lives in New Jersey and is hard at work on her next novel.
A very sweet romance where two families grow closer as they work together to rescue and train a very anxious stray dog. Jessica and Briggs also fall in love while working on this common goal. Jessica is a veterinarian who has returned to town temporarily to take care of her father and his veterinary practice while he recuperates from an injury sustained in a fall. She meets young Will when he brings a stray in to be checked out, and is introduced to Will’s father Briggs soon after. They start off on the wrong foot, but slowly find common ground and are able to work up to friendship and then more as their families and friends begin to spend more time together. I loved reading a little every night before bed this week while my work schedule was intense. Really set the tone for restful sleep. Sweet romances that feature animals-especially dogs-make me so happy.
First in the Return to Hopewell series, in which Jessica Trombo, veterinarian, leaves her position in Chicago to help out her father after he takes a bad fall and breaks his leg. She takes on his veterinary clinic and encounters a shy 14-year-old boy and his even shyer dog, a rescue, who subsequently introduces her to the boy's father, teacher Briggs Longfellow.
Over the course of several weeks, Jessica and Briggs become closer, but she's intent on going back to Chicago, particularly when Briggs' son's mother suddenly shows up, shocking everyone. Jessica's plans with Briggs to acknowledge their developing romance is suddenly on hold. But should it be? Leave it to Jessica's father and Brigg's aunt who have something to say and do about all that.
