Really, the first half of the articles are rather accessible to the layperson, and interesting to boot. However, the second half become increasingly difficult for a non-Korean and/or non-linguistically trained person to read. I ended up skimming the last 60 pages, despite a valiant effort.
All in all, I learned quite more than a bit about the Korean language after reading this book, though I still am sketchy on writing and can't say much more than 'Anyangasseo'. If I do ever try to study proper, I think this background will be useful.
