This is another of Julia's Tag readers and she really likes this one. This one follows Della Duck on a little adventure and it's pushing initial blends and the ck pattern for learning readers. It mostly features cl, fl, tr and ck.
I was surprised at how well Julia's done with this one. She's getting great at sounding out words, even words pretty big for her, and she has a decent sized vocabulary for her age. These books have definitely helped.
All of these books have three or more different games included. All of the games have three levels and you have to complete the previous level before going on to the next. These games are very short and aren't just for fun - you're child will learn while playing.
Through the story if the kid taps the Tag pen to other parts of the page, parts without any text, they'll hear different sounds. For example, if you touch the water in a pool you're hear splashing and kids laughing, if you tap a bush or tree you may hear birds chirping.
I can't talk these books up enough to any parent with a kid getting ready to learn to read or still in the beginning stages.
