A ground breaking collection of academic papers on the person and work of the Holy spirit, including contributions by Jorgen Moltmann and Miroslav Volf.
These are the published texts of a series of lectures and workshops delivered at Holy Trinity Brompton in 2010, a conference that I attended and mostly enjoyed. The texts, like the lectures, are quite a mixed bag though with an impressive cast of speakers. Some are longer than others, some are more esoteric. David Ford's is predictably good as is Graham Tomlin's. I remember at the time struggling a little bit with Jurgen Moltmann's accent, and the notes of the lecture are not that much more helpful. Miroslav Volf's lecture I also remember as being a bit of a disappointment. Overall thought, this was a great conference for HTB to have hosted and it's great that a book of the talks has been produced.
With essay contributions from Moltmann, Volf, David Ford, Rowan Williams, and Graham Tomlin (as well as others), how could this not be fruitful reading? The book is taken from conference lectures on various aspects of the Holy Spirit and his work. Enjoyable, insightful, and short.
