He has some good things to say but he's also promoting some really dangerous ideas. Telling people it's too late to act, that the college students he lectures to should "seize the day" and that Allan Savory's holistic management and other low-tech carbon sequestration projects are "snake oil" is really not helpful at all. A coworker/friend lent this to me along with a warning of its dubious writing/editing/publishing quality. I trudged through the whole thing despite truly wanting to like it. The book feels more like an anthology of blog posts chosen to fit a narrow set of themes, without sufficient direction or editing, even though it's all by a singular author.
