I remember reading this book when I was little and I loved it. Reading it again now has brought back so many fond childhood memories of a much-loved character.

The Mrs Pepperpot books were among my favourites as a child. I loved the adventures of the fiesty old woman who would often, without warning, shrink to the size of a pepperpot. I loved her adventures, like the one where she read the tea leaves, and thought she would have a dangerous day, the one where the child thought she was a talking potato, and many, many more. I can't remember all of them anymore, but I would love to read them again, sometime. I always liked her long suffering husband, who had to constantly worry about what had happened to his shrinking wife.

I think this is a great imaginative children's series, that also reminds us of a simpler time. It is a series that I would wholeheartdly recommend.

I had fun reading these stories to my 4 and 6 year old brothers. They both ejoyed listeneing to it and would beg me to read another Mrs Pepperpot story. Though near the end my youngest brother mentioned the fact that Mrs Pepperpot really was very silly. They are nice funny stories though completely unbelievable. I remember reading them to myself many years ago so that makes it fun. Even though the main character is an old woman, it is written in such an imaginative way the young people don't mind at all and a lot of the stories have children in them as secondary characters too.
