Sophia is the last of the Templeworth sisters, and was very young in the first book in this series. Now in book 4, we get her story.

Sophia still prefers horses to people, and spends much of her time at her sister's houses - avoiding her mother who is now (somewhat inexplicably given all her connections and the fact she is something of a grasping snob!) trying to marry her off to the pig farmer who pops up in each book.

At Cheska's House she meet Devon, Duke of Farnshire, who she had previously danced one dance with at her sisters wedding and promptly found it all a bit much and vanished to the stables...

They reconnect over Christmas and when he sees how kind and motherly Sophia is with his two young wards, he hatches a plan to make her a Duchess / put her in charge of the children!

Sophia has other ideas and the book takes us through Devon coming up with a few better reasons for them to marry than Sophia's governessing skills.

I enjoyed this book and this series. It didn't take itself too seriously and I found the characters fun - it's unashamedly daft and I like that!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
