The author of this book, Kamata Minoru, is a Japanese doctor. One day he was reading the newspaper in his home in Japan about this story: "The parents of a Palestinian boy killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank have donated his organs for use in Israel, in the hope of promoting peace.". The story affected Dr. Kamata so much that he decided to meet the boy's parents. Five years later, Dr. Kamata visited Janine. He wrote this book to tell what happened and how the parents made the decision to donate their boy's organs to the enemy.

This is a heartwarming story, full of humanity. Actually, what made me pick this book, is not the story itself, but rather the fact that a Japanese writer would publish a story on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I was curious to know what kind of look would he give to the conflict. As I expected, it was a very soft, simplistic and unbiased point of view.
