Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).
If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.
Note: WorldCat is an excellent resource for finding author information and contents of anthologies.
This was a fairly interesting book. It's focus is the artists of the comic books, rather then the publishers, editors or writers. Although the focus is supposedly the artists of the "Silver Age" there is quite a bit of info given on the "Golden Age". Once the discussion turns to the era in question it is broken into three chapters, DC Comics, Marvel and everyone else. There is a final chapter which focuses on primarily on Gil Kane's "His Name Is Savage". All in all a decent volume which will in all likelihood will find its way on many comic aficionado's bookself.
I love the art of this period and the printing quality here is just beautiful. And the text! I'm always hoping to find writing as passionate and opinionated as this when I open an art book.
