The Book of Essential Islam

Rate this book
This book presents the teaching and practices of Islam as a spiritual training system. It is a corrective to certain misconceptions and distortions of Islam that abound. It can serve equally well to introduce non-Muslims to Islam, as well as to enhance Muslims understanding of their own faith.

"Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to your parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor"

A lot of misconceptions about Islam, the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) are brought to light and then shredded into pieces. A very insightful read, although you need to be patient with the writing structure.
