Published by the Finnish Archaeological Project in Jordan, this massive three-volume set presents the results of fieldwork and research by the Finnish Jabal Harun Project. Between 1997 and 2005, this project was involved in the archaeological excavation of a Byzantine monastic/pilgrimage complex and a survey of the environs of the site. Jabal Harun (= the Mountain of the Prophet Aaron) is located near the ancient city of Petra in southern Jordan and is, according to Jewish, Christian, and Muslim traditions, the burial place of Aaron.
