Kelefa, la prova del pozzo è la conferma della frustrazione del patrimonio culturale di una generazione: cultura e tradizione si infrangono sul muro del progresso creando un profondo conflitto sulle possibili prospettive di sviluppo.
Mbacke Gadji is a senegalian author. Born in the Nguith ( under the Senegal river), he grows up in a desertic and pastoral zone and leaves Africa in 1986, when he has 22 years old. Landed in France, he starts a new life as mason, marrying a French woman. After the end of the marriage, he decides, in 1992, to move away to North Italy, when he has to fight the strong prejudices against black people. In the same year, he decide to move again and live in Milan, where he'll pass the next 20 years. He starts writing after the death of his grandmother, that used to tell him traditional Senegal's tales, maybe just to honour his land and his traditions, realizing his first work : "Numbelan, the reign of animals", published in 1996.
He has a degree in economy, and talks italian and french in a perfect way.
