The Battle of the Little Bighorn: A New Appraisal

This book provides a new perspective on the Battle of the Little Big Horn and the death of G. A. Custer, with startling insights into the darker personalities of Sherman and Sheridan.

Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer died at the hands of Native Americans by the banks of the Little Bighorn in Montana 25th June 1876. This is an established undisputed fact. What is disputed is the real reason that he died.

So forget all you have been indoctrinated to believe and begin to learn the truth. George Custer was anathema to his superiors, but the populace loved him. If he were to stand for president in the coming elections there was a strong possibility that he would win. Neither William T. Sherman nor ‘Little Phil’ Sheridan could allow that to happen. Thus, they conspired to put Custer in a position in the field where the opposing Sioux and Cheyenne were stronger and could deliver the ‘Coup de Gras’.

The first of two volumes to deal with the circumstances that arose leading the Native Americans on a collision course with the US Army that fateful day and the death of a national hero. Subsequently the conspiracy is uncovered and shows how these men used their powers and positions and so deftly covered their tracks. Perhaps, but not quite.

30 years of diligent research has uncovered the truth in this groundbreaking history. Unmissable and shocking, dare you not read this surprising revelation.

As the historian Carl Becker wrote “History is what the present chooses to remember about the past.” The Battle of the Little Big Horn - A New Appraisal gives us another possibility of events alternate to the accepted (and Hollywood perpetuated) version.
Inspired to read A New Appraisal after reading a review on it in October’s edition of Midwest Book Review I was pleasantly surprised by the author’s evident research and knowledge and the way it is written and portrayed in the book.
The author gives a very good, well researched background to the events leading upto and including the Battle of the Little Big Horn and to the general state of living, and political and military standings at the time.
There is evidence put forward that what occurred at the Little Big Horn was a result of a conspiracy against Custer. The author puts this accross in a way that encourages the reader to look beyond the so called accepted history has led us to believe after all these years.
This is not just another unbased “conspiracy theory” book that reads as very good fiction. The author has clearly sown the seeds in this book for putting forward and explaining the evidence behind her reasoning in presenting this theory of events with the promise of expanding on this in the upcoming second book.
As Winston Churchill wrote “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.” Maybe what we have been led to believe happened at the Little Big Horn was merely propaganda to hide a deeped more insidious plan to rid the plains (and possibly Congress) of Custer and have the Native American Indians blamed for it effectively killing two birds with one stone.
Anyone interested in the American Indian War era should read this book and I believe it should become one of the primary references for reading on the American Indian Wars and on society in general of that era.
Having thoroughly enjoyed reading book one I am now eagerly awaiting book two due out early next year.

A fascinating read!

Fantastically well researched book that has a strong human perspective on the events before, during and after the battle making the story come alive. The theory that there was a conspiracy seems utterly convincing given the evidence. uncovered
