Imagine having your whole life documented. A real-life Truman Show. Meet Cory McLeod, who at 30 years of age, has had a photo taken every day of his life from birth and chronicled all of it. His time-lapse videos online have reached an audience in their millions, and now he is here to tell the full story. This dark, inspiring and hysterically funny autobiography follows Cory as he navigates his way through everyday life. Cory battles anxiety, faces a gun to the face and pays 40 dollars to remove a knife from his chest. He runs down from Mount Everest because he’s late for a wedding, climbs Mount Fuji with a broken rib and drives a tuk-tuk 3500km across India. If that wasn’t enough, Cory gets Rihanna’s lipstick on his lips, falls out with Prince Harry and parties with David Haye. He’s then grounded by reality after becoming friends with a curtain whilst on a mushroom trip in Indonesia. He names her Gusty Gail. Wild, unpredictable and chaotic, 30 A Life Lived Every Day by Cory McLeod is a story the everyday person can relate to. One minute life is going to plan, the next you’re wondering “How the f*** did it come to this?”
What an unbelievably journey. From his early years kicking a football around Harrogate to his epic adventures spanning the globe, Cory has truly led a magnificent life so far. This book shows the up and downs of the life of a millennial in the first 30 years of his life, growing up with an ever changing world around him. This book will inspire any reader to Do More. Well worth picking up a copy and coming along for the ride!
Cory's autobiography is a gripping journey told through raw honesty. His vivid travel stories transport you to exotic locations and there are many laughs along the way as he manages to get himself into so many difficult, hilarious situations. Several stories had me tearing up as he explained the battles he had with anxiety, bullies and finding meaning in his life. I found the story of him going from non-athlete to entering the worlds longest desert ultramarathon really inspiring. It made me want to buy some running shoes!
I was completely shocked by how much I enjoyed this book and how many topics it covered. Overall it was a captivating read and I’d recommend it to anyone!
I found Cory's autobiography both inspiring and refreshingly honest. Cory weaves a tapestry of humour and resilience across a wide range of subjects. He navigates most stories with a comedic twist but there are dark moments too which are quite powerful and it was interesting to learn how he battled his way out of them. The ups and downs of Cory's journey create a relatable resonance, making it a compelling read for those seeking laughter and motivation.
Cory's unwavering determination to live life to the fullest leaves an indelible impression. Cory's writing style is engaging, humorous, and infused with a sense of wonder. 30 Years: A Life Lived Every Day is a book for the dreamers, the explorers, and anyone seeking inspiration to embark on their own courageous journey. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone hungry for inspiration, laughter, and a genuine passion for life.
Reading Cory’s life story reminded me of a movie “The secret life of Walter Mitty”. Except he didn’t wait half of his life to embark on his dream journeys and for sure didn’t keep it a secret (thank you for that!). The book doesn’t only keep you entertained, but also motivates to not be afraid of taking the step into the unknown and explore this world and yourself though it. Funny, entertaining and inspiring read.
Bought this based on an Amazon recommendation and it was really good! Gripping the whole way through, and divided easily into subsections that are easy to dip in and out of. Perfect for round the pool. Will be ordering his other book shortly!
