I finished Aliens in America last night in my hotel room while travelling. Peter Augustine Lawler (RIP) had a wide frame of reference and perspective. Many of the thinkers he takes on were not familiar to me. Some of his arguments are obtuse and dense. Protestants might be put off by his Catholicism, but he is a Thomist after Walker Percy, but not as nearly as sardonic. He is definitely not a creative anti-realist.
