Labeled a traitor and marooned on earth for stealing power crystals to prevent his planet’s inhumane experimentation on earthlings, Lrence finds himself drawn into the human lives around him
Many years later on an archeological dig in Guatemala, archeologists discover a room carved out of stone and dominated by a man-sized niche surrounded by carvings. Seventeen-year-old Joshua Carson finds a crystal, inserts it into a hole in the niche, and vanishes. Miles from home, he finds love, uncovers family secrets, and comes face to face with ruthless enemies, one of which will do whatever it takes to recover the crystal. Joshua discovers the crystal has endowed him with increased strength and mental acuity. What he doesn’t know is that continued exposure leads to insanity.
Lrence may be Joshua’s only hope for survival. However, protecting Joshua may expose Lrence and doom earth to the alien domination he gave up everything to prevent. He must decide how much he is willing to sacrifice to keep a promise and save the life of this one human.
Vicky grew up in Southern California before all the orange groves disappeared and you had to mortgage your soul to buy a piece of land. She’s lived all over the United States and spent two years in Taiwan and three years in England. After all the moves, wanderlust is now a permanent part of her psyche. The thrill of exploring a new city, walking in the footsteps of an ancient civilization, or exploring a museum has her booking travel plans every few months. Working as a Human Resources Director at hotel/casinos in Las Vegas, Reno, and a five-star resort in West Virginia gave her lots of anecdotes to include in her stories, carefully disguised to protect the not so innocent. Her books include Double Down and Jealousy, two romantic murder mysteries set at a strip resort in Las Vegas, and The Crystal’s Curse, a science fiction novel where the action takes place on earth. It mixes alien domination with time travel and a little Mayan mythology.
