For those, who want to be able to put together the different aspects of Sir William Hamilton, the archaeologist/antiquarian, the Volcanologist, the politician and yes the husband of Emma Hamilton and friend of Nelson. This is probably on of the best books around.
It's an exhibition catalogue rather than a biography, but that means that the authors come from very different angles and take some different vies of the man and his achievements.
If you like the Enlightenment or the archaeology and geology around the bay of Naples this is probably the perfect read for you.

But warning: Emma and Nelson are not a major part of this book, nor the heroes.
