Ummm, Not Really a Workbook!

As someone who actually understands what a workbook is, it drives me up a freaking tree when I see a book that is clearly *not* a workbook called one. The bulk of this book is mostly numbered lists on self-care, self-love, positive relationships, and the like. If you've done any reading in this “self” space—whether in books or online—you’ve likely seen what the author espouses before. The last 30 pages are what the author calls a “self-love” journal. It made me laugh out loud because it's the exact same page that makes up the author's positivity journal (which I reviewed earlier this week), without a single difference between that journal's pages and the pages in this book! Except for the title of the page, of course, self-love versus positivity. All the sections themselves are the same (things grateful for, notes/reminders, water tracker, emoji showing what you’re feeling, what you’re proud of, and what you are looking forward to) and are in the exact same places. Mix it up a little bit, dude! And I noticed an error on this page which I hadn't noticed in the positivity Journal—though I am sure it is there as the pages are the same. In the section where the publisher has you track how much water you're getting, the one-liter portion only shows three bottles compared to the two-liter and three-liter sections showing four. They should all be the same, as a liter is a liter! As you may be able to tell, this book did not impress me.

I received a free digital copy of this "workbook," but that did not affect my review.
