Cry For Justice
When his present love interest asks Palm Beach, Florida attorney Jason Justice to look into the affairs of a young girl who needs assistance in locating her missing step father, who by all indications may have not only staged her mother’s suicide but may also made off with her family’s fortune, Jason finds it all but impossible to say no.
With little to go on except for a yellowing snapshot, he takes on the case not realizing his search for the missing man would eventually lead him to more victims and expose a link to a secret CIA relocation program and a trained killer who would stop at nothing to keep his crimes secret.

I was recently asked if I would be willing to read / review “Cry For Justice” by first time novelist Ralph Zeta. While thrillers are not my preferred reading genre; I did agree to review this title because I know first-hand how challenging it can be finding a professional book reviewer when you’re just starting out as a writer.
The story within “Cry For Justice” is a good one and the characters are completely believable. Jason Justice, the book’s main character, is a successful attorney living in Palm Beach, Florida. (Yes, I did chuckle at the double entendre of the title.) Once upon a time Jason lived in New York and used his legal knowledge to help clients recover assets that were stolen from them. Unfortunately his father became seriously ill and that’s when Jason moved south. Not being the best at taking orders from other people Jason decided to open his own business and now he mainly handles high profile / high paying divorces because, according to him, there are three things you can count on in life: taxes, death and...divorce.
Jason’s girl-friend Nora asks him to meet with the daughter of one of her patients who recently committed suicide. The daughter adamantly believes that her step-father Evan stole everything from her financially affluent mother and then disappeared but not before he killed her; leaving Amy, the daughter, destitute and searching for help in recovering what’s rightfully hers. Knowing what these type of cases entail Jason doesn’t want to get involved but Nora refuses to take “no” for an answer.
After meeting with Amy; hearing her sad tale and seeing a picture of Evan that doesn’t sit right with him; Jason agrees to help her. What follows is a well thought out novel that doesn’t disappoint. Lots of unexpected plot twists and for the most part the reader will not be able to foresee what’s coming. The book’s back cover states: “be prepared to read late into the night” and I finished this book at 1:52 am rather than leave it until morning...
In closing, “Cry For Justice” is a great book and my only advice for the author (which should not hamper the reader’s enjoyment) is to ensure that future works are edited more thoroughly. In every book there will always be some misspelled words even though we try to catch them all. However, in the age of computers and editing programs it seems much easier to have improperly spelled words. Things like spellcheck shouldn’t be solely relied on because while a word may be “correctly” spelled that doesn’t mean it’s correctly spelled for the sentence it’s found in.

I received this book through First Reads giveaway and enjoyed it. It was a fast read (start to finish on a plane trip).
Strong points:
* Good plot - not overdone or overused
* Excellent location, and the author either knows the area really well or did a good job of faking
* The story moved along well and had enough characters to be interesting
* A few loose threads could become a sequel
These things made it three stars instead of more:
* Needs tighter editing. The woman at the bar changed names and became "Cindy" at the end
* Same editing issue at random places. The sleeping bag was described twice in one paragraph, and Mackenzie's family had two "colossal" items in one paragraph. One of each would have been enough.
* JJJ was a little too James Bond for my taste. The man was seriously relationship challenged and it was tedious to read of one more fit, long-haired, bright-eyed beauty that he wanted to bed. Also, at one point he needed to run more to get in shape and then he executes mission impossible antics to save the day. One of these is not like the other and it stretched credibiility too thin for me.
Overall, however, the book was enjoyable. I forewent the airplane Sudoku puzzles and it was worth the sacrifice.

I thought this was a good first book. The story line had a lot of potential. The downfall was that there were parts that were just soooo descriptive it got boring. There were a lot of characters too and it was hard to keep track especially when Sammy was involved. We found out all of the special ops training as a situation was happening instead of a one time explanation as to how Justice and Sammy were so technically involved. I thought it was good and I hope to see more or Zeta's work

I received a copy of this book in a first reads giveaway.
I was a little wary when starting this book since it is a first for the author. However, I was very pleasantly surprised to find it to be well-written with interesting characters and plenty of suspense.
The main character Jason Justice is a lawyer who choose his clients very carefully. However, when he agrees to look into a case for a friend things spiral off in a way he never imagined. Not only is the new client in danger but now Jason himself has been put in harms way facing a dangerous killer who's also linked to the CIA.
I noticed in the back of the book that the author is considering writing another novel featuring Jason Justice. I hope that he does because I would definitely be interested in reading it.

As far as thrillers go, this was a pretty good book! The characters were interesting, and the plot developed nicely. I was able to figure out the end quite a bit before it happened, but it was still good. There were several spelling and grammatical errors which made the book feel slightly less professional, and overall it was just a good book and not a great book.

I was so excited to get this book in the First Reads giveaway program on Goodreads. I was really blown away, it was so good. I could not believe it was Ralph Zeta's first book. The characters in the book were all so believable, and I loved the suspense. I want more books about Jason Justice, Love it !!! Would read more books by Ralph Zeta, So get busy writing more please !!!

Great read for the price. All of the women characters were overdone, being tall luscious & sexy. Our Hero was also overdone as aa superhunk. The storyline developes with lightning pacing buiilding to a Superhero's conclusion. Whew! What happened to believabilty? Ins spite of all of this, I will look for the Author's next effort.

I was very pleased to win this excellent book on Goodreads. The action never stopped...almost impossible to put the book down...I appreciated the real locations for the setting of the story and that justice was done.

Enjoyable book
Great mystery that keeps you entertained. This book didn't disappoint but I skipped through some of the laborious parts with way too much detail. It was nice to have a hero who fought hard to right the injustice.
