This books is better suited for people who are already familiar with the American labor movement, its events, and its leaders. Each chapter is outlined by Stein before the various newspaper articles, interviews, speeches, etc. As a graduate student studying and using the American labor movement for their thesis project, Stein's book has a lot of themes and important quotes that can be used for a variety of topics on the movement.
