I found the book insightful into Edinburgh's long and storied history. At times I found particular excerpts leaving me more information, particularly David Hume and the passing mention of Witch trials on N'or Loch. Despite this, I recomend picking this book up if you plan on visiting Edinburgh in the near future.

Well on my first trip to Edinburgh in Scotland I bought this pocket book about the history of the city.

It was really a good buy and I like the fact that on every page there is a new entry about this and that, it gave me a better understanding for Edinburgh that I fell in love with in September 2011.

First the book lay on my bedside table but it soon moved out to my bathroom because I read quite a lot in there. And it was a good decision for else I wouldn't be finished with it yet.

I recommend it to everybody who is just interested in history or like me want to know more about the special history of Edinburgh.

Quite nice introduction to history of Edinburgh. Not a serious one, though.
