This volume opens a window on the life of Dr. Paisley. It records matters of an auto-biographical nature never before committed to print. It also reveals the driving force in his life of Gospel ministry.
Ian Richard Kyle Paisley, Baron Bannside, PC was a politician and church minister in Ireland. As the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), the largest single grouping in the 2007 elections to the Stormont Assembly, he was elected First Minister with Sinn Féin's Martin McGuinness as deputy First Minister on 8 May 2007.
In addition to co-founding the DUP and leading it from 1971 to 2008, he was a founding member and immediate past Moderator of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster.
The book title of course is taken from Esther 4:14 from Mordechai's instructions to Esther. In many ways, Ian Paisley was placed in Northern Ireland for such a time as he faced, both in the ecclesiastical milieu in the established Presbyterian church and the founding of the Free Presbyterians, and later for the political times in which he found himself involved because of the traitorous Northern Ireland prime minister Terrence O'Neill.
The chapter titles are taken from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. There is an appointed time for everything we experience in life. Paisley details his early life through to the end of his ministry.
The book was interesting, because I've heard him speak but knew very little about his life.
The latter half of the book consists of tributes to Paisley from BJ III to his family, and give more details of his life and ministry.
