I have been eagerly awaiting this book and was not disappointed, I loved Mae and Sebastian both had grown up in such different worlds, yet when they meet, even through a hedge where they couldn’t see each other there was a spark that was hard to ignore and what’s more they are supposed to be enemies sparked by a family feud many years ago.

Mae Dunstan has arrived in New York to the billions from the Rutherford family inheritance something she knew nothing about, growing up in Australia with her mother and brother, Heath she was taught not to trust anyone and here she is in America meeting so many people and doing her best to get to know all about her new life, but when she meets new business partner Sebastian Newport trust is not easy to come by.

Sebastian is now a single dad to young Alfie he is working hard at the company formed by his family but his family owns a half share the other fifty present is owned by The Rutherford’s and the lost heirs are here to take control of their share, when he meets Mae he suggests she spend a week with him to learn the business, is he hoping that she will willingly sell their share to him, but what he doesn’t expect is to lose his heart to her.

This is a fabulous emotional, sensual and moving story that had me cheering Mae and Sebastian on with every turn of the page, Mae is strong and determined to do good in the world and Sebastian with his terrible childhood, can he see what Mae does, but with a family feud going back years can they overcome that and find the love that is within their hands the love and happiness they deserve?

This one left me sighing with happiness and smiling throughout, it is one that I highly recommend to any romance lover.

My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.

Mae is a newly discovered secret heiress who is trying to find her way in a world that is foreign to her. Sebastian is a widowed CEO rival who is trying to understand his place in a company that he runs. They form a wary compromise as they attempt to work together, attraction makes things complicated. Both have had difficult pasts, and they are reluctant to open themselves up to the possibilities of a future together. I enjoyed the banter and slow burn of their relationship. Bailey depicts their feelings realistically and you can relate to them. The secondary characters were well-written, and they added dimension to the story.

This is a continuation of Rachel Bailey's part 1 The Lost Heir. I love the depth of the characters and how their complex feelings due to having spent their childhood hiding from their abuse father drive the plot of these books. It was an intense and good read.

In this eagerly anticipated book, Mae and Sebastian, hailing from different worlds and caught in a family feud, discover an undeniable spark. Mae, unexpectedly inheriting billions from the Rutherford family, battles trust issues upon meeting business partner Sebastian, a single dad working for a company entwined in a shared ownership with the Rutherfords. As Mae navigates her new life in New York, Sebastian proposes she spend a week learning the business, unaware he might lose his heart to her. Amidst a backdrop of a longstanding family feud, the story unfolds with emotional depth, sensuality, and resilience. This moving tale of love and overcoming obstacles is a must-read for romance enthusiasts, leaving readers cheering for Mae and Sebastian's happiness.
