I read this book in 6th grade and it changed my way of looking at the world. The notion that our thoughts and memories were contained in the physical components of our brains was a revelation and my first step on a journey to a materialist view of the mind. I also think this book may have sparked the beginning of my growing suspicion that there was no such thing as an immortal soul.
