This 161 page book offers Indian legends told by adults to their children. Each of the 21 tales has a b/w illustration of an Indian symbol and many of the tales include a full page b/w drawing of the story's subject. For example, "How the Muskrat got the Marshes", "How Fire was brought to the Earth", "The Three Races of Men", and "The Buffalo Legend" are illustrated. Many Indian tribes' stories are represented in this volume.
