This book is GREAT! It explains WHY your baby might not be sleeping and then explains the different techniques you can use to try to get your baby to sleep through the night. It's totally judgement free and neutral on what can sometimes be a hot button topic. It even acknowledges that you might decide not to alter your current behavior. Totally fabulous. I got this at my library and unfortunately it's out of print. However, the author wrote another book called "Andrea Grace's Gentle Sleep Solutions" which is available.

This one really seems to work. My wife even calls it a godsend...the case study we resembled was completely spot on, and the solutions all worked even better than the book said they would. Highly practical and recommended. Out of print now unfortunately, but second-hand copies are still easily available through Amazon and the like.

Just to add, there's an updated version of this book - a 2010 edition in both hard and Kindle form (http://bit.ly/HiVNeV). It looks more or less the same. Wife just ordered the kindle version as this is being written...

It is a good reference book to help you improve your child's sleep habits, and has a good index for specific situations or problems. I did not read the whole thing but got some great suggestions for our specific problems that worked.

I really liked this one. It was a down to earth and helpful guide. Kind of an overview of several methods or philosophies but very helpful with real advice for different stages of sleep problems.
