What a bizarre book. Friedman writes barely comprehensible sentences that would presumably work better in a stand-up routine but almost exclusively fall flat. Maybe it would make more sense fifty years ago when the "lingo" sounded less forced and outdated, dig? Is this a memoir, or an attempt at converting other Jews to Christianity...? It's very unclear and feels like he just wrote a bunch of random ramblings scattered with some amateurish attempts at exegesis and apologetics, then jammed it between the covers.
In 978 I began a list of the books that I would read and listen to in the coming years. It is July 19, 2022, and I am still adding to my list and went back to look at the first book on the list and it is this one. I wanted to see if this was on Goodreads and I found it and was glad. So many books consumed since 1978 and I'm glad I have a list of them. Enjoy your books in whatever format works for you. I do.
