Sids & Infant Death Survival Guide: Information & Comfort for Grieving Family & Friends & Professionals Who Seek to Help Them

Rate this book
Formerly THE SIDS SURVIVAL GUIDE, this anthology was re-named in 2003 to reflect a broader readership. Revised and updated for 2003, it provides new research information and new articles and poems by parents who've lost children to SIDS and other deaths such as suffocation. Nineteen chapters cover everything from the particular grief of mothers, fathers, siblings, grandparents, and child-care providers to guilt, anger, dreams, premonitions, peer and professional support, planning funerals, enduring anniversaries, and having subsequent children.

This book comes EVERYWHERE with me! My son, Liam, died of SIDS on May 17, 2007. I never know when a "moment" will hit and I will need a way to feel less alone in grief. This book is like my friend at this point. I turn to it at the saddest of times, I turn to it in happy days, I turn to it when I don't know how to process all of the emotions I feel. This guide is a must if you have experienced the loss of a beautiful baby to SIDS.

We lost our second baby to SIDS in 2003. If you, or anyone you know suffers a similar tragedy, this book is an essential early step on the road to putting your life back together. The author lost a baby to SIDS, and the stories and guidance found here are a foundation for moving forward.

Had hoped I could relate to it more as we had a son die of SUDS. A better resource for families of SIDS babies. (I also skipped the section pertaining to having subsequent children - which will not happen for us)
