The book is a good starting point for everyone who wants to understand better the process stages in developing new products from ideation to market, also a decent part of the book is dedicated to measuring the results. However, the book mainly covers linear (waterfall) product development model, that usually doesn't work well, agile methods are only vaguely mentioned.

To figure out how to create innovative ideas and bring them to market through a very complex environment (i.e., global conglomerate), I wanted to go back to basics - new product development. The book generally confirmed what I assumed so that was good. The book provide a very good 101 lecture and a high level framework to organize further investigation.
