Ivy must solve the mystery before her town dissolves into chaos and she becomes the next target.

A fantastic first book in a series but a really great author! Somewhere, Ohio is a town run basically by a very wealthy family, the Stones with Cassandra their entitled, spoiled daughter. The town has basically become crime ridden with Queenie and her crew, muggers and thieves. Ivy Jackson, a very long-time resident has lived in town all her life, but is distressed that her children and grandchildren won't visit the town they grew up in because of all the crime. This makes Ivy mad and she and her protector, border collie Boo decide they need to help clean up the town since the police department is totally inept. Ivy and Boo love to visit the museum and while there, Cassandra comes in and starts smashing things with her sassy mouth. According to her, she can do whatever she wants since her parents financed the museum. Ivy returned home with Boo and found she left something at the museum. Hoping the museum was still open, she returned only to find the door open. When she went in, she saw a dead body. It was Cassandra dead. As annoying and obnoxious as she was, there were so many potential suspects and the town police had no idea what to do, so it was up to Ivy and Boo to find the murderer and begin the process of cleaning up the town. I really loved this book! Ivy is a hoot and with Boo, what a pair. I can't wait to see what she will get into next! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
A night walk with Boo turns reveals a crime scene at the Somewhere Museum when Ivy and Boo discover a corpse in the new exhibition. She is determined to solve the murder in spite of inept police investigators, corruption, and strong-arm villains. Ivy has decided that Somewhere is in need of a good cleanup if the town is going to be restored to its previous glory and Boo agrees.
This is an enjoyable cozy mystery with Ivy and her border collie Boo. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
I wasn’t sure at first if I’d like this somewhat different main character who didn’t appear terribly likable. But Ivy grew on me and of course, Boo had me at the fact he was a cute dog. Ivy became someone I’d be proud to call my friend as she worked toward cleaning up crime in her longtime town. She was kick-butt and I wanna be like her when I grow up! But she was a fiercely loyal friend and now I’m eager for when the next book is released then gets put into Kindle Unlimited.
Ivy Jackson has an adorable border collie, Boo who is also her protector. Ivy's ambition is to eradicate crime from the town of Somewhere. A murder of a young girl gives her an incentive to find the killer as the police are very lax. I love the characters in the book, especially Ivy's feisty dog, Boo. A humorous page turner with a fluid story line.
i don't think this one has anything to do with the other??! #25 is the one i did read. Cake Pops and Murder (A Bite-sized Bakery Cozy Mystery Book 25 ... and Devil's Food Cake and Death (A Bee's Bakery Cozy Mystery Book 3) ...fun reads all the same ...mystery is awesome. love that genre so so much!!
The first book in a new series will keep you guessing page after hilarious page. Ivy Jackson is a hoot and her dog Boo, goes right along with her. Rosie Pointe has a way with storytelling and its a pleasure to read her tales.
I had a hard time with this one. I felt it moved slowly & at times the writing was all over the place. I always enjoy books by this author so I’m willing to try one more in this series & hope it gets better.
