Victor "Skeet" Thompson lived his life according to the codes he bound himself to. As a navy SEAL, the vow to humbly serve as a guardian was embedded in his DNA. When he joined the FBI, he dedicated himself to fidelity, bravery, and integrity. He was a man in service; to the team, to the job, and to those who needed his help. But he mostly believed he was a man serving his family in the best way he knew how. But what happens to his code when the illusion of that idealistic dream crumbles around him?
Alexandria "Ghost" Snyder isn't like other women. When her friends played bridal dress-up with baby dolls, she plotted paintball strategies and played interactive sniper games on her computer. She was fourteen when her father put a rifle in her hand, and her destiny was clear. She was a good shot before she joined the Marines but found her center as a skilled sniper. Now that she was back home, nothing was what she thought it would be. No matter how she tried to acclimate to civilian life, she was lost. No. Not lost. She was worse than that. She was unnecessary.
When Skeet's marriage falls apart. Over the phone. Via text. He starts a new life in a new city. As a single parent, he wants to do the best he can for his kids. And when he can't deny his feelings for Alex, things really get complicated. Can he risk his heart and take another chance on love? For a woman like Alex, he's sure as hell going to try.
Alex never dreamed of true love. Or marriage. Or kids. Until she meets Skeet. And all the things she never thought she wanted seemed to come with this sexy single dad, including an angry 10-year-old boy and a precocious 6-year-old girl. And suddenly, she can't see her life without them. But can she take a chance on this new life? For a man like Skeet, she's sure as hell going to try.
Codename Raike is intended for a mature audience over eighteen due to language, sexual situations, and depictions of trauma.
ALC Review Book: Codename: Raike : The Omega Security Series Author: J.R. Tootill Narrators: Lee Daniel’s, Sean Masters, Joe Arden Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🔥🔥🔥 Narration: 🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️
This is the second book I have listened to from JR and I really enjoyed it. I have really enjoyed all the characters in this series so far. I wanted so much more after I finished book 1 and now I got it!!
Victor “Skeet” is a former Navy Seal with a family and wife when he meets Alex “Ghost”. He immediately takes care of the wife part when he signs the divorce papers before even kissing Alex. As they get closer and start working together the attraction between the two is very strong. There is still danger out there and it directly affects Skeet and Ghost.
Lee Daniels and Sean Masters are brilliant and really bring the strong personalities that are needed for this series. The touch of Joe Arden was perfection.
Codename Raike is Book 2 in the The Omega Series. This can be read as a standalone. This is Skeet and Alex's story. Skeet was a former Navy SEAL. When he joins the FBI, he took that responsibility to heart, which left his family behind. He thought he had the dream, but soon it starts to crumble at his feet. Alex was a skilled sniper for the Marines. When she leaves to join civilian life again, she's lost. When Alex and Skeet end up working together sparks fly instantly. They try to hide their feelings for eachother, but Skeet finds he's ready to fall in love again.
This was so good. I enjoyed the dual POV. Skeet was a terrific father. He had two kids that he adored and loved so deeply. I felt he handled the whole situation with his ex the best he could. She was so awful to him. Alex was so cool. She had a reputation as a skilled sniper and she matched Skeet's energy on the field. Skeet and Alex had crazy chemistry. I loved the suspense in the story. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
As for the audiobook narration, it was great! Performed in duet narration by Sean Masters and Lee Daniels with cameo by Joe Arden. All three did a fantastic job! Sean and Lee's voices sound so good together! Sean conveyed Skeet with a deep, booming voice. Lee conveyed Alex with a cheerful tone and she exuded Alex's fun, confident side. As the story progressed so did their attraction towards eachother. I loved how open Skeet was to his kids about his growing affection for Alex. Alex was amazing with the kids. Lee and Sean had great kid voices. Joe makes a small appearance in this story. His character intrigued me. He was a bit mysterious and seemed to be up to no good. Overall, Codename Raike was a great romantic suspense with action packed scenes. Highly recommend!
Audiobook Release Day: December 10, 2024
Thank you to bluenoseaudio for my ALC in exchange for an honest review.
Narrated by Sean Masters, Lee Daniels and Joe Arden
Sean and Lee did a phenomenal job as Skeet and Alex, the seriousness of situations was conveyed so well. And then when lust and love took over, these two were fire. I just love Sean's voice.
There was straight crack in this book. I think maybe was the single dad. Yeah. Yeah that's it. He wasn't single in book 1 though.
Skeet gets the worst text message, from his wife, asking for a divorce. He doesn't want it, but then a text comes through after -meant for someone else and that's that. He has to know share custody of his 2 children. Flipping their world upside down too.
Alex, the sniper, has some feelings for her co worker, but its complicated with his divorce and kids and she's surprised to know the feeling are reciprocated.
I really enjoyed seeing this all unfold. His kids are caught in the middle and hearing things from mom, and that makes it harder for Alex to be let in by his son. Skeet works hard to be there for the kids, but has to find happiness and love too.
When it came down to it, Alex proved to the kids she would be there for them, and should would everything to keep them safe.
J.R. Tootill writes a great romantic suspense. This is the second book in her Omega Series, and she did not disappoint. I loved the continuation from Codename Wolfe, as I adored the characters. Codename Raike follows Alex and Skeet as they navigate their relationship and the trials of their job and family lives. Although there isn’t a great deal of spice, the spice was spicing! Can’t wait for book 3.
The audiobook is narrated in duet by the amazing Lee Daniels and Sean Masters. There is also a cameo by Joe Arden. Both Lee and Sean did an amazing job portraying the different characters in the story; they were easily distinguishable. I felt all of the emotions of the characters; the narration was seamless. They also have super cute kids voices. Joe, as always, brings his A game. 5/5
*ALC review* I absolutely enjoyed diving back into this world, this time focusing on Skeet and Alex. I always love how these stories are intense as far as the main plot goes, and the mix of security work overlapping FBI/military jobs with the drama sprinkled in makes for a story that I didn't want to step away from. Sean Masters and Lee Daniels did a spectacular job bringing Skeet and Alex to life, and their performances sucked me into the story even deeper!
Codename Raike The Omega Security Series, Book 2 By: J. R. Tootill Performed by: Lee Daniels, Sean Masters, Joe Arden
J.R. Tootill continues to wow me with another fantastic novel, the second in her amazing Omega Security series, and this book was just as captivating as the first, so much, once I started it was hard to stop because I need to know what happened next. The book kicks off ten years earlier, Victor “Skeet” Thompson, on the same SEAL team as Tuc, was on a mission in Afghanistan, a mission that went bad and changed their all their lives and one that cost them. Alexandria “Ghost” Snyder, a Marine and a sniper, was on a mission with her team lead by Mack, and it was personal for her and her last tour with the Marines. Fast forward to present time and back in the states, in Philly, and we get a glimpse of the early days and then the start of Omega Security. Skeet’s marriage is on the rocks, and his wife Trish wants a divorce and shows her cards. He is more concerned about his children than her, so he needs to tread carefully. Alex, who is her own person, takes a liking to Skeet, but she won’t mess with a married man. There is an undeniable chemistry between them, and they could deny each other for so long. I thought these two were great together and for each other, and it was great to watch their relationship grow. His kids complicate things for Alex, and there was some resistance and awkwardness, but in true Alex fashion she does not give up. Alex gets a call for a job, one she was going to pass on, but it raised some flags and she knew it was going to hit close to home, close to Skeet and Tuc. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with a perfect balance of drama, angst, action, twists, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotion and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. Like the first book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. J.R. Tootill, thank you for another amazing story and the wild and emotional roller coaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Lee Daniels, Sean Masters and Joe Arden are superbly talented voice artists and the perfect cast to bring these characters to life. Daniels and Masters were fantastic as the two leads, Alex and Skeet, performing in duet, giving each a voice that fits their personalities and demeanor perfectly, and Arden, who jumps in as Rourke, is just as fantastic and does the same. They were fabulous performing the roles of the side/secondary characters, children included. Their pacing and tone are just right for the story, and they capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling each one. They are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevates the already amazing story to another level. Thanks for another exceptional listen.
Codename Raike by J.R. Tootill is the second book in the Omega Security series, and it’s a mix of romance and suspense with former Military and FBI agents. This time, the story focuses on Alex and Skeet as they leave the FBI to start a security company. While working on a case, we get to watch their relationship grow, which was really sweet to follow. If you’ve read Codename Wolfe, you’ll recognize some of the characters, but this book stands on its own.
The narration is top-notch. Sean Masters was amazing as Raike—he brought the character to life perfectly. I’ve only recently discovered him, and he keeps getting better with every book I listen to. Lee Daniels surprised me by nailing Alex’s snappy, confident personality. She really stepped up, and together, they made the story even better. Joe Arden also makes an appearance, and while his role kept me guessing, it wasn’t as creepy as in the first book!
The story brings something fresh with Skeet’s struggles as a single dad. Seeing him navigate parenting, divorce, and a new relationship felt real and relatable. The challenges of blending a family added depth to the story, and let’s be honest—kids never make anything easy! The romance and suspense balance out nicely, making the book a quick and engaging listen.
My only small gripe is personal: I’m not a fan of jazz music, and some spicy scenes had jazz references that didn’t work for me. But the chemistry between the characters and the narrators’ performance more than made up for it.
Overall, I loved this audiobook. The characters, the story, and the narration were all spot-on. It’s a five-star listen, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance with a bit of action and heart!
This is Book 2 in the Omega Security Series by JR Tootill. This is a romantic suspense book, leaning more towards the romance element.
This is Skeet and Alex’s story. The first part of the book overlaps with the timeline of Book 1 so we see what happens to Leda and the aftermath through a different lens which I enjoyed. This series is made up of interconnected standalones, but I would recommend reading them in order to get the full benefit and impact.
Skeet and Alex have great chemistry, but they wait until the time is right. Skeet is dealing with a divorce and child custody issues. Its one of the things I love about these books, they have a maturity and realism to them. The men and women of Omega are ex-military, they know how to handle themselves, but the women are especially strong and badass. Alex (code name Ghost) is a sniper. We see Omega start to grow has a firm and take on cases. When Alex takes on a case that links back to Tuck and Skeets ambush in Iraq years ago, things are revealed the story gets going! These books have a strong disability, mental health and PTSD rep. We meet Roarke, undercover DEA agent and the story morphs into trafficking and kidnapping before the finale!
The book ends with a HEA for Skeet and Alex and sets up Book 3 nicely. I am looking forward to Josh’s story.
This book has amazing narrators 👌❤️🎧. We have Sean Masters (one of my favourites) and Lee Daniels as the main characters. Lee Daniels is a new narrator for me, I loved her voice and performance, and I will be looking out for her in the future. The book also has a cameo by Joe Arden as Rourke.
I've purchased Book 3 already, and can’t wait to get started!
This is #2 of the The Omega series by J R Tootill.
I loved #1 and was really looking forward to reading this one. It was good to see familiar characters again, so I would suggest that although this is a standalone, it would be best to read the series in order.
Here we meet another of the operatives, "Skeet" Thompson who is a 6'4" bada** Navy Seal as well as "Ghost" a Marine who worked with another member of the team as an FBI sniper.
This is slowburn whilst we get to see how the friendship and relationship develops between Skeet and Alex (Ghost). We meet Skeet initially when he is experiencing matrimonial problems and we are introduced to his kids, 6 year old Abi who is so cute and moody Dylan.
I'm not usually into 'kids' stuff, but these two played a major part in the story and I really liked the development around the four of them. Here we have another bada** Alex who has no time for full blown relationships, kids, etc. who now has to deal with the full package and it is a delight to watch how protective she becomes and how everything falls into place beautifully.
I felt this book had less action but what we did see was excellent and we still have to find the bad guy, so I'm looking forward to reading #3 where hopefully more will be revealed now that Omega is officially up and running!
I'm looking forward to reading the stories around "Kent" and "Nighthawk".
The duet narration was sublime with Lee Daniels, Sean Masters and Joe Arden.
Thank you Blue Nose Audio for allowing me the pleasure of listening and reviewing this book. All opinions are my own.
Codename Raike, the second book in The Omega Series by J. R. Tootill, pulled me right back into this gripping world. Just like with Codename Wolfe, I loved how the action flowed so naturally while still centering the story on the characters themselves. Although this can be read as a standalone, I’d strongly recommend starting from the beginning of the series to fully appreciate the team dynamic and connections. Skeet completely stole my heart in this one. As a single dad, his devotion to his two kids was beautifully portrayed—I especially loved every scene with them, full of warmth and authenticity. Skeet’s struggles with parenting, divorce, and finding his place in a new relationship added such a relatable and emotional layer. The romance with Alex “Ghost” Snyder balanced seamlessly with the suspense, keeping me hooked without ever resorting to unnecessary drama or third-party misunderstandings. It was so refreshing to see the focus remain on the main couple and the core plot.
I also really enjoyed the audiobook. With the story told in dual POV and narrated in duet style by Lee Daniels, Sean Masters, and Joe Arden, it felt immersive and engaging. Each narrator brought the characters to life in such a compelling way.
J. R. Tootill definitely deserves more visibility—her writing delivers action, heart, and romance in a way that feels unique and satisfying. Codename Raike was a quick yet emotional listen, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series brings.
Codename Raike is the second book in J.R. Tootill’s Omega Series. Alex and Skeet’s captivating and sweet love story was fantastic! The ragtag team of former SEALS and alphabet org agents are back and better than ever as they build a new security firm in Philly. Alexandria "Ghost" Snyder is a bad bish former marine with a rare skill set who doesn’t tie herself to anyone. Victor "Skeet" Thompson is a former SEAL and FBI agent navigating his new life as a single dad and settling into a new team. I loved Alex’s salty & fierce character. Skeet was a perfect combination of big bad alpha and adorkably awkward. He sure is one hell of a hottie book boyfriend! The way Alex had him tongue-tied and fumbling sometimes was so endearing. Alex soared to the top of my favorite book besties list. The scorching chemistry between these two practically ignited my headphones.
Sean Masters and Lee Daniels crushed the narration of Codename: Raike! Joe Arden’s cameo as Rourke was passionate, snarky, hilarious, hooked me in and left me wanting more of Rourke’s story. This audio was a wild ride from start to finish and I was engrossed in every second of Alex & Skeet’s love story. Sean Masters brought the complexity of Victor’s character off the page marvelously; Sean embodied Skeet’s gruff, hardened, dirty-talking agent side and the compassionate, heartbroken, hesitant-to-trust, sweet side. Lee Daniels was superb as the fierce and fun pixie bada** Alex. She portrayed the tough-as-nails, sultry, ferociously loyal character beautifully.
Codename Raike The Omega Series, Book 2 By: J. R. Tootill Narrated by: Lee Daniels, Sean Masters, Joe Arden
This series is everything I love. A good love story threaded into an exciting suspense thriller! JR Tootill has a winning series on her hands and I just cannot get enough. After book one, was anxiously awaiting the audio and it did not disappoint! Skeet is everything a woman wants. That is except for his ex-wife. It's hard to be away for work, and not being able to discuss it is even harder. She had enough, and now Skeet is now just trying to heal and get his kids. Alex is catching his eye. She is independent, the best at her job and fun. As they grow closer though, there are still secrets and as they are beginning their company, all the partners want to know what is happening, and once they do, what will happen? Danger is lurking, and everyone is now involved. How does it all end? Tootill has an ensemble cast that has put me right in the action with them. I love her writing, it's engaging, exciting and hot!
Lee Daniels, Sean Masters and Joe Arden are incredible together bringing this alive. Daniels voices the women, and adds the emotion, the frustration, the passion and the bravery in a way that grabbed me from the start. Masters is Skeet, using that voice not only to woo, but as the strong soldier he is. And Arden comes in as O'Rourke, calm, cool and collected as a surprise to the story. I loved this duet style narration and can't wait for more!
This is my ALC review for Codename Raike. I love how JR continues to build the world of Omega Security and expands upon characters that we have already got to know. This can be read as a standalone, however it does connect to previous plots in Codename Wolfe. The friendships these characters have are relatable and are easily relatable. Book 2 is Skeet and Alex's story. Skeet is a newly single dad and falls hard for the tough as nails Alex. Alex doesn't think she does feelings and deeper connections, but is swept away with her connection to Skeet. This story does have a HEA. I loved how JR did not gloss over the messy parts of life in this story and it was honestly refreshing.
The narration in this story was fantastic. Lee Daniels gave Alex the perfect amount of sass. Lee is a newer narrator to me and continues to grow in her depth and range. She really brings the emotions to life with Alex. She does fantastic children voices as well. Sean Masters continues to surprise me and his ability to make other previous characters have the same mannerisms is amazing. Joe Arden has a cameo in this story and brings the energy to his character, building the intensity in JRs writing.
I can't wait to see where the rest of the Omega universe takes us and as always JR doesn't disappoint.
Codename: Raike is book #2 in The Omega series. I was so excited to get this second installment in audio!! The author really knows how to deliver a story filled with suspense, emotional depth, plot twists that keep you guessing, and of course spice! She really captures the camaraderie that exists between former military members, even when they find civilian careers. Victor/Skeet is dealing with a crumbling personal life and fighting his attraction for his co-worker, Alex, rather unsuccessfully. Alex/Ghost is trying to find her place after a stellar military career. This is kind of a slow burn, but only because Skeet has morals and decency (😂). I'm now a firm believer that this series definitely needs to be made into a movie! It just keeps getting better.
The narration was phenomenally on point. Sean Masters (Skeet) and Lee Daniels (Alex) with a sprinkling of Joe Arden (Roark) lets you have your cake and eat it, too. Masters and Daniels delivered all the angst, emotion, and passion that existed between Skeet and Alex. And the kid voices...too good. 5/5 thrilling stars!
Codename: Raike is the second book in the Omega series and it did NOT disappoint! I think I mentioned this with book one, but I’m not usually a fan of 3rd person POV. I always seem to get lost on what’s happening but that doesn’t happen with J.R.’s books! There’s something about her writing that sucks you in and makes it easy to follow along. I absolutely loved Skeet and Alex’s story! They don’t get dealt an easy hand but they power through and come out stronger on the other side.
This was performed in duet by Lee Daniels and Sean Masters, with a cameo by Joe Arden, and they all smashed this audio! Lee was the perfect choice for Alex and her sassy, yet confident personality and I loved her as Skeet’s daughter Abby, too! Sean brought Skeet, and his son Dillon, to life in the best way! He also did a phenomenal job of bringing back Tuc from book one and they both did amazing with all the other side characters! And the little surprise from Joe Arden was top notch and I hope him and his character returns!
I’m invested in these stories and all of these characters! I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of this series!
I am absolutely loving the Omega series by JR Tootill! This second installment is just as gripping as the first, blending suspense, action, and a dash of spice that kept me hooked from start to finish. JR has an incredible talent for crafting stories that are equal parts exciting and intriguing. The choice to write in third person adds depth to the story’s dynamics, making the plot even more engaging. The narration performed by Sean Masters and Lee Daniels is nothing short of wonderful. The third-person perspective allows them to shine, flawlessly portraying not just the leads but also a range of supporting characters with nuanced emotions that elevate the story even further. Sean’s versatility in tone—especially his incredible kid voices—brings the characters to life, while Lee’s performances never fail to amaze. Together, they deliver a listening experience that’s truly unforgettable. If you love crime thrillers packed with military and spy vibes—and a touch of romance—this book is a must-listen.
J.R. sure knows how to suck you right in. I loved book one of the Omega series, but this one is my favorite so far. I loved Skeet and Alex's story and the twist thrown in there. I was in shock.
I think I said this with book one, but I am not usually a fan of 3rd person POV because I find it hard to follow and hard to connect with the characters. I usually skip them, but with J.R.'s writing I didn't even notice it. I felt a deep connection to both characters and world building in this series is so good that I'm able to follow along.
I enjoyed the romance and the progression of the relationship of the two main characters.
Bluenose audio produced this book, and I was blown away by how they did it. When the characters were talking over a radio, they made it sound like that's what was truly happening. And also with the house system talking sounded really cool. This book was narrated by Lee Daniels, Sean Masters. and Joe Arden, who did a wonderful job capturing all the characters in this book.
𝙹.𝚁. 𝚃𝚘𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚕𝚕 had brought us another powerful installment in her romantic suspense series: 𝐎𝐦𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲. I feel head over heels for beautifully chiseled characters once again! I started this audiobook first thing in the morning and didn't stop until I couldn't hold my eyes open any longer. This story absolutely captivated me!
Falling for Skeet while he was falling for Alex was so emotional and fun! Their story is intense, filled with suspenseful intrigue and an ending that has left me absolutely craving the next installment! I loved that both Skeet & Alex are former military. It made their stories addictive!
𝑆𝑒𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠 & 𝐿𝑒𝑒 𝐷𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑠 were epically paired to bring these characters to life! From the emotions, to the chemistry to the kids, their voices flowed beautifully together! Add in an amazing cameo appearance by the talents of 𝐽𝑜𝑒 𝐴𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛, and the narrations were perfect!
If you love your romance mixed with suspenseful twists, unexpected turns and characters you'll fall in love with, so not miss this one! 𝙹.𝚁. 𝚃𝚘𝚘𝚝𝚒𝚕𝚕 can't release the next one soon enough!
Let me start by saying that Sean and Lee were absolutely phenomenal narrators. Their voices brought Skeet and Alex to life in such a vivid, emotionally charged way. Their chemistry was electric—exactly what this story needed! I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing these characters justice.
This story was an absolute rollercoaster. Skeet and Alex were everything I wanted in a pairing—gritty, passionate, and deeply vulnerable. The "co-workers/friends to lovers" trope was executed to perfection, with just enough tension and vulnerability to keep me hooked from start to finish. And the spice? WOW. It was intense and emotional, weaving seamlessly into their relationship. Every steamy moment felt earned and meaningful.
But the plot is where this book truly shined. While the romance kept me glued to the pages, the underlying espionage and double-agent elements were just chef’s kiss. The twists and turns were so well done that I found myself constantly guessing—and usually wrong—in the best way. The stakes felt real, the action sequences were nail-biting, and the intelligence work was detailed enough to feel authentic but not overwhelming.
I also appreciated the depth of the characters' personal journeys. Raike’s inner struggles and Lex's resilience were beautifully portrayed. The mental health representation was handled with care, showing raw, realistic depictions of trauma and healing. Watching them find solace and strength in each other made their story even more satisfying.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a romance with high stakes, intense action, and characters who feel real. This is a series I’ll be eagerly following, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
This is the second book in The Omega Series, an interconnected standalone romantic suspense. I liked Victor/Skeet and Alex/Ghost's story. Skeet, a former Navy Seal, is handsome, and caring. Ghost is beautiful, capable, and strong. They are perfect together. I liked Skeet's kids. The storyline is entertaining, filled with drama, action, danger, and twists and turns. I liked the slow burn, and the chemistry. The supporting characters are great. I loved to see again the characters from the first book in the series. Lee Daniels and Sean Masters did an excellent job bringing these characters, and this story to life. The duet narration is pleasant to listen to. I liked the appearance of Joe Arden. Looking forward to listening to Codename: Blade, the next book in the series. #BlueNoseAudio
Codename Raike is the second book in the Omega series and while a lot of second books fall a little flat, Raike absolutely did not.
JR once again grabs your attention right from the start and delivers a story that you just don't want to put down.
It kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat but was definitely worth the sleep I lost so I could listen to 'just one more chapter'.
I was lucky enough to get an A L C of the upcoming audiobook. Sean Masters and Lee Daniels were phenomenal as Skeet and Alex, and the cameo by Joe Arden was a fun surprise that you'll want to pay attention to.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a fast-paced, engaging story with characters that are complex and lovable.
I can't wait to see what JR has in store for the Omega Security team next.
Book 2 in the Omega Security series. We follow Skeet with his 2 kids and Alex the ever so patient sniper. So many new things happening for our duo, will they thrive? Great storyline with passion twists and turns and unexpected encounters. The narration for Codename Raike was top notch, Sean Masters as Victor “Skeet” was outstanding! Each character he portrayed was easily identifiable and he brought a raw emotion that his main character needed. Lee Daniels as Alex “Ghost” did an amazing job bringing to life the badass sniper with the heart and soul patience of a saint. Finally the Cameo by @JoeArden as Rourke was excellent as usual. These were the perfect choice for the story, they truly bring the story to whole other level. 10/10 would recommend 5⭐️’s oh and the Spice was spicing🌶️!!
Ghost and Raike are book 2 of the omega series. Both have pasts and things that haunt their present lives but together with their other Omega family they can make it through anything. Ghost is used to being part of the team but working alone. While Raike would not have survived without his brother's. Both are in very different places in their lives when a case brings them all together and they build a friendship from their found families. I absolutely loved the ending of this book and can not wait for 3 to be avaliable on Audiobook. Sean Masters and Lee Daniels put so much into these characters and I can not picture anyone better to play these two. Joe Arden's cameos to this series have been great. I am excited to see where the series goes from here.
This is the second book in the Omega series. Skeet was a navy seal that believed in his duty to protect. Leaving the Navy to please his wife was not what he wanted but went to work for the FBI. His wife wasn't happy that his job took him away from her just as much as the seals did. She was not happy. Alex was a sniper in the Marines. She has her eye on Skeet. She is a tough as nails no nonsense person until she meets Skeets kids. She had no experience with kids and the kids were angry. But eventually they learned to trust her after a scary situation. This book is a must read/listen. It is well written by JR Tootill. It is spicy with Sean Masters and Lee Daniels. Joe Arden has a cameo apperance. I give this book a 5 star rating.
This is a gripping blend of romance and suspense. Skeet, a devoted single dad and former FBI agent, and Alex, a confident ex-Marine sniper, navigate love, family, and danger. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the story is both heartfelt and action-packed. The audiobook is outstanding, with Sean Masters and Lee Daniels delivering seamless duet narration. Masters captures Skeet’s strength and vulnerability, while Daniels brings Alex’s vibrant personality to life. Their performances, especially the kid voices, add depth and authenticity. Joe Arden’s intriguing cameo enhances the experience. This is for fans of mature romantic suspense, with a perfect balance of emotion, action, and good narration.
Book 2 of the Omega Series is just as brilliant as the first. Tuc and Leda's story from book 1 overlaps with Alex and Skeet's, so it's interesting to see some of the same events from different perspectives. This book drives the Omega Security team forward, and we see their friendships become stronger all while Alex and Skeet fall in love. I really loved how well-written Dylan and Abby were. Kid characters are either hit or miss, and JR did a wonderful job.
Lee Daniels and Sean Masters really give life to Alex and Skeet. Their performances were top notch and I would definitely listen to both narrators again, and their voices have a great contrast in this duet narration. The cameo by Joe Arden was also well done.
Codename Raike by J.R. Toothill is a compelling continuation of the Omega Series, picking up where Codename Wolfe left off but shifting the focus to Alex and Skeet's story. Their slow-burn romance is beautifully woven into the larger Omega narrative, showcasing J.R. Toothill's talent for intricate storytelling. Lee Daniels and Sean Masters deliver brilliant narration, especially shining with the kid voices. Joe Arden's cameo is a masterful touch, and I hope we see his character reappears in future books. While there's notable recap, it feels intentional, setting the stage for the unfolding series. I'm eager to see where the Omega Series goes next!
Skeet is what everyone wants in a man and I want to be Alex. She is such a bad@ss. She has strength, stamina and the patience of a saint or maybe that’s the patience of a sniper.
I loved that Skeet and Alex truly got to know one another before jumping into a relationship. This strong foundation made some of the trials that were thrown at them manageable. I loved Skeet’s kids and the care that was taken to make sure they knew they were all one family unit.
*ALC Review* I absolutely love this book from start to finish so much so that I finished it in one day. I have the honor and the privilege of having the ALC of this beautiful book. J. R. you are a pure genius and I cannot wait to get my hands on all of your books because you blew my mind. There was so much suspense that I just couldn’t put this book down even if I wanted to. This book has truly become my new obsession. If you absolutely love FMC and MMC who are both bada****, you need to get this book today because you won’t be disappointed.
I really enjoyed Skeet and Alex’s love story! This may be my new favorite of this series. I loved getting to visit with Tuck and Leta again! And meeting some new characters too. The spice was delicious! I love how all the branches of the military and fbi are involved in this series. The narration by Sean masters and Lee Daniel’s was amazing! And a cameo by Joe Arden! Hoping that joes character gets brought back up!
