You will definitely get your money’s worth from this box set. The series begins well and gets better and better. I really enjoyed this series.
I received an advanced reader copy of this series from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
The author collects her Annie Oakley stories into a nice box set. We get some history and appreciation for Annie. We also get some fiction and mystery wrapped around those hours in her life which aren't documented at the Annie Oakley Foundation or the Women's History Museum. In these stories she becomes a crime solver. She adopts a writer as a sidekick and they become Sherlock and Watson, sometimes to the detriment of her time as a sharpshooter. Certainly an enjoyable read.
I'm enjoying the Annie Oakley series. It's well-written, suspenseful, and entertaining. The characters are interesting, the culprit isn't obvious, and the guy gets the girl in the end. Twisty like rattler! I'd recommend them.
