Filled with vivid illustrations and engaging stories, t his children's learning book combines elements of fantasy and science, teaching children about the natural world and the importance of preserving the environment. The simple and easy-to-read language makes it accessible for young readers, encouraging a love of reading and learning. Your child will be fascinated as they explore the enchanted forest with Lucy, meeting animals that teach her about their unique features.
This children's fantasy book is perfect for parents looking for an educational and entertaining story that will spark their child's imagination and curiosity. As a children's science book, it also makes the perfect gift.
"Lucy and the Enchanted Forest" is a must-have for any child who love fantasy stories, nature, and the outdoors.
The illustrations are obviously AI Generated, the girl looks slightly vacant because of that. Her features change on each page. The story also seems to be AI Generated, the text is clunky, stilted and obviously heavily "borrowing" from other children's fairy stories but not very well done. I think books like this should have to state it was AI generated.
Lucy lives in a house near the forest. One night she dreams she has gotten lost, but helpful animals tell her about their natural adaptations and help her find her way home.
In some ways, this is a lovely book with a thoughtful moral. However, I have a few problems with it. I've never been a fan of dream sequences to explain the supernatural. After all, anything can happen in a dream, and dreams are therefore not nearly as meaningful. Why not just make a book magical realism? As adults, we often feel we have to make things plausible to kids, but framing something as a dream pushes it squarely into the realm of the unbelievable and therefore makes it less impactful. The moral of the book itself is a bit dodgy. If you get lost, wander around talking to strangers, and everything will be alright? I guess there's more than one way to interpret this, but would this book have been better without a moral?
I'm also disappointed in the illustrations. While they're certainly vivid and enchanting, there's no consistency from picture to picture. Lucy's hair, clothes, age, and eye color change from frame to frame, and even the style on facing pages is drastically different. It's distracting. Mostly it reminds me that we don't yet have a good way to get respectable children's book illustrations except for the old-fashioned way.
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
3.5-4 Stars Story/Text 5 Stars Artwork A gorgeously illustrated book with a useful life lesson or moral of the story within the text. It's a wonderful idea and overall, it delivers. The artwork is phenomenal and complements the imagination of a small child that loses her way in the book. Whimsical and fairy-like, my toddler loved the pictures. We'll have to go back and read it again for a closer look at the meaning of the text, we were so enchanted by the illustrations.
What a lovely read. Lucy and the Enchanted Forest is a short & sweet read that teaches children a lesson of asking for help if you're lost. I absolutely loved the gorgeous illustrations and stunning details. The animals look majestic and the forest magical. It made my heart happy!
Overall, I'd buy this book for its inspirational artwork alone. Though it's a well-balanced book.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The story doesn't flow at all and is clearly all AI generated. The characters features (including the little girl) change on each page, it's disorienting and weird.
Lucy and The Enchanted Forest is a story time fantasy book meant for kids between 3-8 years old. I rated this book 4 stars. This book is about a girl named lucy who stumbles upon animals in the woods when she got lost. They helped her to find her way out of the forest and she woke up to realize it was all a dream. I do think that the book is age appropriate for this group because it has an imaginative plot and characters in the story. What I really love in this book is the pictures. The pictures are gorgeous and is so close to being very realistic or picture like. The illustrator did a great job with the details and the colors to make it look magical. The language is very appropriate to the age group, and I also like the length of this story. Kids like to hear a story that has some details and has a full story. I really do think kids would enjoy this book due to its imaginative and creative nature as a book. I would put this in my classroom as a book for silent reading. This book can be very good for students to read on their own and have time to observe everything the book has to offer.
Superficially, the illustrations look nice, but it was immediately obvious to me they are AI-generated. The girl protagonist is wearing a different dress and hair accessory on each page; mostly they're purple, but sometimes they're a completely different color! The animal characters also change appearance every time they are in a picture.
The story itself is pretty basic.
I read the book to two young children, and they seemed indifferent. I don't think they're going to judge the story as harshly as I am as adult, but they didn't seem very invested in it either. Once I pointed out that the girl's dress and hair keep changing, they did have fun kind of playing "spot the differences" with the illustrations, which I assume was not the author's intention at all.
My kids received this and another book from the same "author" as gifts, probably because the covers are so eye catching. On even the first couple pages though, it is very obviously AI. Nowhere on the Book is this addressed, in fact the back description praises the "author" for "vivid imagery and richly detailed illustrations," and says that he "takes inspiration from the natural world and from the myths and legends of his childhood," making it seem like the books are deeply personal. It is also incredibly ironic that a book that is described as advocating for conservation is using a process that is devastating to the environment.
I don’t know how the author-illustrator does it, but he makes some of the most beautiful children’s books that appear nearly photorealistic but also have a wondrous, magical glow. This is now the 3rd book of his I’ve read, and it is visually stunning to look at. A child will even learn a little about some regular animals found in the enchanted forest. While the message of this book wasn’t as strong as the other two are, it is still so lovely to look at.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

She finds herself lost in a wondrous forest where she encounters talking animals. These enchanting creatures guide Lucy back home while sharing fascinating facts about themselves and the natural world. The story is a delightful blend of fantasy and education, captivating young readers with its vivid illustrations and engaging narrative.

This was an amazing book with an awesome story and mindboggling illustrations. The story is centered around Lucy – a small girl who journeys into an enchanted forest and meets a fox, rabbit, and owl who help her find her way back home. They teach her about their unique features along the way. The story is quite engaging and easy to read for early learners. I would highly recommend this book for children, teachers, and parents.
My daughter and I stumbled on this series, she enjoys bedtime stories and said that this book was and I quote “awesome” definitely look forward to reading the rest of this series together
Clearly an AI generated book. Basic story was okay for children. Images were clearly AI generated, not only because they don't always match the writing but clearly discrepancies between characters
This is the first children's book I've read by this author. The story is educational and beautifully told. The artwork is so fascinating and spectacularly beautiful. Both children and adults of all ages will love this book. I gave this book a solid 5 stars.
My niece loved this book! The illustrations were gorgeous and out of this world, bringing the enchanted forest to life. The story is engaging and well written, capturing kid's imagination and engaging their curiosity. I liked the educational facts about the fox, rabbit and owl that Lucy meets. The story also includes important life lessons about courage and friendship. Its definitely worth the read and will be looking out for other books in the series.
