Unlocking Formative Assessment: Practical Strategies for Enhancing Pupils' Learning in the Primary Classroom

Rate this book
This highly practical guide explains how to unlock the power and potential of formative assessment - assessment which engages with and helps define the appropriate next steps for the individual child. Shirley Clarke examines the key issues of assessment in the context of the national curriculum and pupil progress. She then focuses on effective questioning, and ways of raising pupils' confidence and self-esteem - the key to learning. This book makes accessible a wealth of ideas, research and practical expertise, giving teachers the 'how to' information they really need. Down to earth and direct, it shows how formative assessment complements formal, summative assessment - and how it can bring a dramatic culture shift to teaching and learning in the classroom.

Kind of useful - 2*

I like Shirley Clarke. She's the big name in primary assessment but honestly she's wrote better. Outstanding formative assessment written in 2014 is much better.

I have some quotes so yeah....
