This was my second Suzanne Ward book. I had read her book "Matthew, Tell Me About Heaven" which was impressive and enlightening. This book is much more down to earth. Her dogs "mind talk" with her and mostly say mundane things. I guess this is what you might expect. One of the surprises was when the dogs spoke of their communications with "Big Dog". Big Dog is a guiding spirit that helps teach them about the world. The most painful part of this book is all the end-of-life stories where the dogs ask to go to the vet to help them leave this world. I have had over a dozen dogs and this is always the hardest part of life with a dog. Other than the melancholy associated with the short life span of Canis Familiaris it was a fun book.

Touching and lovely. I would recommend this for anyone grieving from the loss of a person or pet. I have "spoken" to the author via email and believe her to be extremely sincere. There is so much more to the universe than what we've been taught in our churches and schools.

Anyone who has loved a pet very much and grieved heavily at their passing should read this and keep an open mind.

Warm and reassuring

as one who works with rescued dogs I found this book very reassuring. I have always wondered what my dogs are thinking and whether they understand what I am doing. Suzy's way of writing is a delight. I will look forward to reading all of her other books.
