Indelibly Yours

Will she be the first to slip past his cranky façade and imprint herself on his heart?

Joel’s got the whole “gruff Viking pirate” thing nailed, with his somewhat-cranky attitude and a body that’s a living billboard for his arty tattoo studio.

But underneath the bad boy façade, he harbors a devotion to his adopted family that’s as true blue as his deepest indigo inks. All he wants is to make his business a success so that his people will be proud of him.

When his planned expansion is thwarted, Joel can’t help holding a grudge against the woman who stole his perfect location, no matter how enticingly adorable Olivia’s mussed hair and bunny slippers are.

For her part, Olivia has no idea she’s coming across as “bed-rumpled sex goddess” rather than “sleep-interrupted, perpetually frazzled single mom,” but either way her skin prickles the first time she meets the presumptive, cocky Joel.

She’s dreamed of meeting a Mr. Nice Guy to offer her and her daughter Abby some stability, and while she knows she shouldn’t judge a book by its cover (or a man by his ink, in this case), nothing about Joel screams “smooth sailing ahead.” So why then is she so drawn to him?

The first February romantic book I chose was “Indelibly Yours” by Monica Myers and it turned out to be a very good hit.

To be honest, I had very low expectations for this book, but it managed to refute them with its first pages. From the very beginning it managed to make me laugh receiving bonus points for that and until the very end there were moments where I was laughing out loud.

The writing style is very light and fast to read without being shallow. The chapters are short, and the story is quite fascinating, which meant hard separation from the book for me.

The characters are well developed, and of course, emphasis is mostly placed on the main ones. I can't say they're very deep, but they're by no means superficial either. At first I thought that the book had "insta-love" trope, but then I realized that it was more like immediate attraction happening, and the real feelings between the characters developed smoothly and naturally. The only thing that was odd to me was Olivia's excessive credulity in Joel, but I quickly forgot about it when I got further into the story. Their acquaintance is very tempestuos and fun, it definitely marks the beginning of interesting relationships for the reader to follow. And when they stop picking on each other, they're so awkwardly sweet with each other that they filled my heart.

Then, during the relationship, I understood both characters and couldn't pick a side between them, simply because they were both right. What is happening is not violent or illogical, the story is gradually leading us to it. The characters only needed a little more courage to get what they both wanted.

I knew there would be a climax, but the one that occurred was very different from what was expected, and yet it was interesting because it managed to surprise me.

The denouement seemed a little rushed and hastily written, especially since the book ended with it, as if in nowhere, with no definite end.

But my overall opinion of "Indelibly Yours" is positive - you definitely won't miss if you give it a chance.

✨Thanks to NetGalley for providing a copy of the book and letting me be an ARC reader of it. ✨

This is is told in a dual pov from Olivia and Joel. Olivia Reid is a harassed single mother who runs her own business and has spent so much time caring for her twin brother Nolan and then her daughter Abby that she is incapable of accepting help from others. Erin, her twin brother's wife, owns an erotic bakery called Sticky Treats (and has plans to expand into new premises, which Joel was hoping would save his business by putting him in a more visible location). His business will most likely fail without the new premises, and his aunt and uncle will lose money.Joel is a tattooist who feels like a burden to the people he cares about. Olivia is a fairly straight-laced single mother who adores her adorable 7-year-old daughter and does whatever she can to compensate for her child's lack of a father figure. When you combine them, you get a really delightful yet super hot romance.
The portrayal in this novel is fantastic; each character is well developed and has their own distinct personality.

I tried, I really did, but I just couldn't get into it. The story felt forced, the characters felt flat, and I couldn't make myself move passed the 20% mark.

This is book two of the Tasty Temptations series and the main characters are Joel, who owns and runs Sailor Joey’s tattoo shop, and Olivia (Liv), who designs websites and is sister-in-law to the heavily pregnant Erin, who owns a naughty bakery called Sticky Treats. Joel lots his parents at an early age and was raised by his Aunt Loretta and Uncle Jeff. He owes them everything and they were the ones that backed him when he tried to open up his tattoo shop. Now he is trying to relocate to a better location and is just waiting for the final lease to be signed, when another firm manages to steal it from him, as he sees it! His aunt and uncle actually re-mortgaged their own home to help him out and with his business not doing well, he is unable to pay them back, leaving them in financial problems especially with medical bills to pay when his uncle became ill. When Olivia’s brother Nolan calls her for a favour, she has to go and open the new site for Erin’s assistant at the bakery, Jayden, as Erin is unwell with her morning sickness. Not that Jayden is much better, having gone out drinking with her Granny V, the originator and illustrator of a series of children’s pirate stories, with a main character based on Olivia, called Vivi Tempest. Olivia normally works from home and is a single mother to 7 ½ year old Abby, but is helped out by her Granny V, and her babysitter Alana. Joel turns up across the road to the bakery early the same morning and when he sees a woman coming to the door, he decides to give her a piece of his mind!

Shame she isn’t the owner, nor the person he is accusing of having stolen his new shop location! The red haired woman whose back he can see as he approaches, seems familiar for some reason, which he can’t place. His grumpy and gruff pirate look suits him perfectly and he is not exactly polite in what he spouts at her. Seeing her with big fluffy bunny slippers on, makes him think of her as adorable, but when her daughter comes out of the car to join them, he is smitten. Abby can’t get enough of his tattoos and is instantly able to bring out his softer side. Olivia has been single since Abby’s father walked out on her when she was eight months pregnant, not wanting to be a dad. But her main role is to be the best mother she can for Abby, even if it would be nice to have a nice man in her life. Joel certainly doesn’t match that description from first glance, that’s for sure. Granny V takes an immediate liking to Joel and invites him to the grand opening of the new bakery, having seen the chemistry between him and Olivia even through all their sniping at each other! Joel’s best friend Zel is a body painting artist at his tattoo studio, whilst he has a young apprentice Lily, who is more interested in her mobile phone than anything else, especially since they don’t exactly have many customers. Zel tries to persuade him to go to the opening party to make some contacts and maybe help out their own business gain some more custom.

He is too proud to accept help however, wanting to be a success on his own and needing to pay back his relatives, knowing how much financial problems they are now in after helping him, even though they repeatedly tell him they would do it again in a heartbeat! I loved the descriptions of the ‘rude and suggestive’ baked goods Erin came up with to bake and how some people reacted to them. Joel puts a hard shell on the outside and refuses to have a relationship, due to damage in his past, but he is great with kids and very protective of his family. Olivia surprises herself with an image from her gran’s book, which Joel completely transforms. She offers to help promote his business using her skills, which he doesn’t want to accept, but she needs a favour in return. Their attraction grows and they have the usual issues stopping them and letting their other issues split them apart. A misheard comment makes Abby shy away and leaves Olivia with no choice. Luckily he turns up at just the right moment for a couple of desperate hospital runs and shows just how much he can be relied upon. Joel needs to learn how to communicate his feelings better and not allow his grumpy pirate persona to take over, while Olivia needs to allow herself to trust another man after being let down so badly by Abby’s father. A lovely story, with some fantastic side characters, especially Granny V and Abby, with their wonderful sense of adventure! I can’t wait to read more form this author. I received an ARC copy fo this book form BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Joel Morris owns a tattoo parlour called Sailor Joey's, with his dark clothes and tattoos he looks like a sexy pirate. No matter how hard he tries, things always seem to go wrong for Joel, his aunt and uncle took out a second mortgage to finance his tattoo parlour , but he's not making any money and he can tell they are worried about their future. [Side peeve, instead of doing something about it Joel just mopes about being grumpy - how does he expect to get new customers without advertising or using social media?]

Olivia Reid is a harassed single mother, running her own business, and someone who has taken care of her twin brother Nolan and then her daughter Abby for so long she is incapable of accepting help from other people. Her twin brother's wife Erin owns an erotic bakery called Sticky Treats (I feel this was probably a funny idea for the first book which got out of hand) and is just expanding into new premises, premises which Joel was hoping would save his business by placing him in an area with greater footfall. Without the new premises his business will probably fail (see my pet peeve above) and his aunt and uncle will lose their money. So all in all Joel is not happy with Olivia's sister-in-law and comes round to the building to 'have a word' but meets Olivia instead and mistakes her for Erin. Typical mistaken identity, insta-lust, prickly exchanges ensue until Joel comes to realise he is unleashing his ire on the wrong woman.

This was a pleasant enough opposites attract romance, Olivia dreams of a solid, dependable Mr Right to look after her and Abby, not realising that the hot tattooed guy could be that man. Joel is afraid of taking a chance, of falling in love, of making himself vulnerable. I fell like I've read a whole load of books very similar to this by Eve Dangerfield or Scarlett Cole and other than erotic confectionary (which I could have done without), it didn't bring anything new to the table.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This is book 2 of the Tasty Temptations series and the first I've read in this series and by this author.

Not having read book 1 did not detract from the enjoyment of reading this book at all and although we do meet the characters from book 1, it absolutely worked beautifully as a standalone book.

I absolutely loved our main characters in this. We meet them separately at first which worked really well at establishing each one as a character.
Joel owns a tattoo studio and is gazumped when trying to upgrade his business to a new location. He's big, sexy, covered in tattoos and grumpy naturally and now he's angry too. We get just enough of a sneak peek into his past to know that he has reason not to trust others with his heart - and that deep down, beyond the outward visual and his attitude, he's a big softy.
Olivia is the classic suburban single parent mum just trying to survive and do the best for her daughter - having been ditched at 8 months pregnant, she is not looking for any more heartache and won't subject her daughter to any failed relationships. She's happy with the support of her family - or is she?

At first meet, Joel and Olivia wind each other up and can't stand each other - and straight away we just know what's going to transpire! It's your classic romance novel - enemy to lovers - failed relationships - past heartbreaks - lack of trust - bumpy road - but are so getting it together in the end!

Don't take this as a negative though as however predictible that journey is - oh how we love to go on it with them!

I thought all the characters were so relatable and lovable in their own ways.
I loved the relationships each had with their family and their friends. Especially Joel and Zel and later Joel with Abby (Olivia's daughter) - just so sweet!
And I loved how Joel and Olivia's bumpy romance developed and changed over time. Feisty, grumpy, argumentative, scared and caring. Not forgetting their spicy, sexy moments!

I absolutely flew through this and couldn't put it down. Loved the duel points of view throughout and the short chapters helped pace it perfectly.

Have added book 1 to my wishlist already and will definitely be watching out for a book 3 which I hope is in the pipeline!
Great characters and just loved this!

I really liked this book!

Olivia Reid is a single mom who has been burned in the past by failed relationships. She’s reluctant to put herself out there and find love because she wants to protect herself and her daughter, Abby.

Joel Morris is a hunky tattoo artist who has his own hangups in regards to relationships. He thinks he has nothing to offer a woman because of his background.

The two meet when Joel mistakes Olivia for the owner of the Sticky Treats bakery. Sticky Treats has just moved into a building that Joel had been coveting for his own tattoo business. Except Joel was outbid in the process of trying to secure the location. So he decides to confront who he thinks is the bakery owner, resulting in an awkward, but sweet meeting. It’s instant attraction between our two characters:

Our story goes from enemies-to-friends-to lovers. It has a smattering of “Let’s bang it out of our system”. There’s a whole lot of slow burn and yearning between the two. I love the respect that Joel shows towards Olivia. He not the alpha-male trying to rescue the damsel in distress, but rather stands beside her offering support. And the affection Joel shows towards Abby is so sweet.

Since this is a sequel, we get to see some characters from the previous book - Nolan, Erin, and everyone’s favorite, Granny V.

My only (hopefully mild) critique of the book is some wording. It’s not exactly clear where the story takes place, which is fine. But I did notice some British phrases/terms throughout the book. Cheque vs check, vest vs tank top. It threw me a bit, wondering if this book takes place in Europe or North America.

Overall, a low angst, cute story with lots of spice. 5/5 stars.

This is such a deliciously sweet and spicy romance by Monica Myers.
Joel is a tattoo artist who feels like he’s a burden to everyone he loves. Olivia is a fairly straight laced single mom who loves her adorable 7 year old girl dearly, and does everything she can to make up to her daughter’s lack of father figure. Throw them together and you get a really sweet, yet super hot, romance.
The characterization in this novel is fantastic, all the characters are very well developed and have their own unique personality. You understand why Olivia and Joel have their insecurities, faults, and strengths. There were times when both characters made me want to whack them across the back of the head due to miscommunication—however, the miscommunication was due to anxiety and self esteem issues (both brought on realistically) NOT due to just bad miscommunication.
The third act conflict between Joel and Olivia seemed pretty far fetched for me. Olivia jumped to a conclusion to a problem (that didn’t really have anything to do with Joel, in my opinion) that didn’t really fit her personality. I felt like Myers needed a conflict between them and this was the best she could come up with, but for me it didn’t work. Granted, I’m not a single mom so while I can truly empathize with Olivia about the issue at hand, my thought process and conclusion to an issue will be extremely different from hers.
I usually don’t like single mom stories but this one was sweet and one of the rare times when the child was SO adorable. This book is the third, I believe, in a series, and reading it made me want to go back and read the first two books of the series. If you want something sweet and hot (the love scenes are really sexy and steamy) this is very much the read for you.

Joel Morris is hoping to boost his business by moving his struggling tattoo shop to a new location. But when someone enexpectedly outbids him, it's just another way to show him what a disappointment he is to himself and his family. He decides to confront the new owner of Sticky Treats bakery, only to meet a fiery-haired temptress in bunny slippers with a temper to match her hair.
Olivia is always there for her family, always the resposible one, so when her sister-in-law Erin asks for a favor, she's there, arriving at the bakery only to be verbally attacked by a bearded, tattooed giant of a man. She should be more terrified if he wasn't so hot. Too bad his attitude doesn't match his good looks.
This is the second book in the Tasty Temptations series. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading The Sweet Spot first. All of the wonderful and hilarious characters from the Sticky Treats bakery are in this book as well. I loved how Olivia and Joel were both hiding their attraction behind the verbal sparring and prickly tempers. I thought the first book had more comedy, although this book also had some funny parts. But you can't beat a naughty bakery and Granny V for snort-laugh jokes and innuendo. I highly recommend both books if you're looking for a good laugh and some great steamy scenes.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Joel (Aka Joey) is in a bit of a downward slump after a business prospect for his tattoo shop goes down the drain until his anger gets the best of him and he decides to confront the woman who wrecked his dreams. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you see it) a case of mistaken identity has him battling it out (only with witty phrases I promise) with Olivia, sister in law of the dream crusher. Both Joel and Olivia have a bit of a crusty side due to early in life losses, although both have tried to rectify their respective situations differently. Olivia, according to Joel is the embodiment of no-fun, stick-in-the-mud and he, according to Olivia is the “gangsta ink, meathead poser,” but the sparks start flying from the start. And they soon keep bumping into each other, which only fuels the fire. The word duels between these two are epic as both are a bit afraid to crack the steel coated armor protecting themselves, but the heat, even just the initial dream sequences, is super hot. Add in a whole cast of hilarious extras, yes I’m talking about you Grandma V and Abby the cutie pie, and you’re soon racing to the finish line as you try to find out more about these two. This is a steamy, yet funny romance that has me wanting to read book one to find out more about this cast of characters. 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc copy of this book. Joel's tattoo studio isn't making a profit and soon he will have to close. But when he misses the opportunity to take on a more significant, better-located premises he soon bumps into Olivia.

Oliva is the sister-in-Law to Erin, who is the owner that outbid him on the new building. But maybe Olivia is the exact person he needs, to open his heart to and help save his business.

This is actually the second in a series, although can be standalone, I love that we go back to meet Erin and Nolan from the first novel.

This novel had me going through so many emotions I was crying at the end. Myers portrays amazing characters with so much depth I want to meet them in real life; I loved these characters and was so pleased to be reunited with Granny V!

This is a fantastic read, with a great narrative and a perfect amount of spice I want to read it all over again. I highly recommend you read book one as you won't be disappointed. If this series is to continue I look forward to getting to know these characters even more.

"It'd be nice if mother nature would stop putting such pretty wrapping around total douchebags"

This is book two the tasty temptations series. I read book one last year so I had pretty high expectations for book two and did not disappoint. Just like book one this book had so many funny one liners and funny parts! And I'm so glad the phallic baking remained and that's how the two love interests met 🤣🤣

This book was more mushy than the first one and I really liked that. Don't get me wrong it still had some Hella good smut - nothing left to the imagination there. But the romance was better in this book more developed and more realistic - best trope used: Grumpy/sunshine

I like the representation of single mums and how difficult it is to date with children and how characters overcome trauma. I do wish it was longer and the ending wasnt so abrupt but overall I really enjoyed it. It was such an easy ready and the story flowed really well.

Joel is a cantankerous individual and even more so when someone out bid him on the property that he had his eyes on. When he drove by and saw a woman getting out of her car, he lit into her but to his surprise she wasn't the new owner. Needless to say, Joel and Olivia started out on the wrong foot, but it also started their journey. Olivia is a woman who doesn't need anyone in her life to depend on or so she thinks but Joel has managed to tear down the walls around her heart. This heartfelt story has twists and turns that had my emotions everywhere and me in Joel and Olivia's cornet to get their chance for happiness.

This is one of those grumpy-to-lovers books. The author though does make it work. Each of the main characters, Joel the tattoo artist, and Oliva do not want to help themselves but also their family, Joel because his adopted family took a mortgage out to fund his tattoo parlor, and Oliva wants to help her brother as well as her doing something for her daughter being a single mom. Along the way you have each of their families working at trying to keep them together and you have characters from the first book in this one as well. A good story like the first book and worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com

Joel and Olivia are meant to be together, but will they get their heads out of their arses and realize they’re a perfect match before it’s too late? The banter between these two was superb—witty and sexy, sometimes downright insulting, but still hilarious. I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I liked the love story between Olivia and Joel. There was plenty of humor, sweetness, family, friendship, conflict, passion, doubts, miscommunication and misconceptions. The attraction is there from the beginning, but they have some things to work thru to have a future together. I wanted a little more from the ending, but it was a good story overall

This book was a lot better than I expected it to be, it was a quick easy read that I finished in almost one sitting.
The pacing was good with short chapters which helped the flow of the book, the story was well written and kept me hooked in and the characters are well developed and I found myself really rooting for both them and their relationship. There was also moments that genuinely made me laugh out loud

I really enjoyed it

A big thank you to NetGalley and Rosewood Books for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd book in a series, but reads great as a stand alone. I really am enjoying this series. The characters are spicy and interesting. This is Joel (a tattoo artist) and Olivia. Joel is a bit intense and uptight and Olivia is afraid to love again and a single mom. Their friends and family are amazing! Abby is great. 4 stars I think most romance readers would enjoy this book.

So good up until the end

I was really enjoying this book and loved Joel. And all the other characters as well.

The only issue I have is the lack of epilogue. It just ended abruptly and no look into the future at all. If it weren’t for that, I would have given it 4 stars. Other than that it was a cute story.

Joel and Olivia met outside of a shop that Joel wanted to buy. He thought she was the owner and gave her a piece of his mind. He realized his mistake after a couple of minutes.
Her grandma (I think) started shipping their relationship and invited Joel around. Their feelings started to grow.
All in all, I liked it.

Always love when I can finish a book with 5 stars.

I absolutely loved this book! For me personally I could relate to this book on more than one occasion as my husband and I own a tattoo shop and we very much had that grumpy/sunshine vibe going on while dating. The characters in this book were easy to invest in and I loved the plot. I love grumpy/sunshine romance books and this one hit it home!

My Thoughts: I wasn’t sure this would be possible but I think I loved this one more than book 1.

We’re following Olivia, a single mum to 7 year old Abby who will go out of her way to help those she loves, which is why she’s out opening her sister in laws bakery in her bunny slippers at stupid o’clock in the morning ..

And Joel, a local tattoo artist who was hoping that opening new premises could help save his business and his family’s finances, he was a bit of a dick to his employees the night before, hence why he is also out in the early hours of the morning hurting donuts as an apology.

This results in a chance encounter and a case of mistaken identity and a falling out that the still sassy Abby helps to fix by making them apologise to each other. 🤣

I won’t give away anymore because I don’t want to spoil the fun, but I LOVED this, seeing Joel and Olivia discover what they both thought they needed was wrong and find what they truly need is each other was beautiful.

Some swoonworthy moments and a lot of spice.

This was perfect and exactly what I needed at the time.

I’m already eagerly awaiting book 3 (if there is one)🤞🏼🤞🏼
