An early childhood diagnosis of dyslexia and dysgraphia should have been enough to dissuade her from the pen but her gifted intellect and need to escape the realities of the chaos bombarding her were too strong. She vanished into the alternate realities she created to slaying the very real threats she was helpless to stop. She lives with the chronic illness of fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), while struggling her way through posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Born from the union of her Scottish and Belgian mother and an African American and Cherokee father, a.c. Mason’s youth was filled with dichotomies and moving from place to place. She developed a curiosity to explore through writing the seedy side of our nature and desires. Add to that her fascination with theology, politics, history, horror, and erotica. And voila, her distinct voice surfaced. Given her own diverse background, she writes stories that represent the world she grew up in. She enjoys delving into the realms of the unknown and blurring the caution lines. Her stories are the place where darkness meets human desire and fairy-tale endings are not promised but earned.
She is fluent in French and English. An avid traveler, she has stepped foot on most of Canada, both of the United States seaboards, England and Europe. For the past seventeen years of her life, she has worked with one foot in the past spanning from 18th century, the Bering Strait theory to modern day and now late Victorian, WWII and 1812 or protecting Canada’s natural landscape. She advocates the preservation of our natural and cultural riches for future generations. As mother of a child with ASD, she raises her pen, funds, and voice for awareness.
Yummy, think hunks of dark, decadent, rich, semi-sweet chocolate! You know in your heart and soul you can't eat just one piece of this delectable substance; you must consume all it.
Chocolate Temptation by ac Mason is just that for me. She delivers the perfect “to die for” recipe of excitement, espionage, adventurous interracial love story. Chocolate Temptation blends earthy spices of deep abiding love, breathtaking sensuality and devotion. Her skillful combination of intelligent, strong main characters, rich dialogue, variety of picturesque settings; with a suspenseful plot makes Chocolate Temptation an unforgettable story that will have you wanting more.
ac Mason artfully carves out chunks of history, vigorously blends realistic settings of Europe, a sea voyage, and battling werewolves risking life and limbs to reach their final destination. Ms. Mason integrates cultural traditions/rituals of two packs, learning acceptance and maintaining faith to unify packs once divided. On this voyage from Switzerland her sexy main characters VanWolf, Alpha of the pack, his beautiful and feisty mate Alexia and trustworthy Epilson-Beta, Cathen are heroic and unselfish in their quest for safe harbor. Through them I understand the utmost importance of the commitment necessary to lead and protect others and analyze situations for the greater good. I felt as though I had a personal relationship with VanWolf, Alexia and Cathen. Ms Mason's lyrical style of writing stimulated my five senses. I felt their heart pounding run through the snowy terrain, the hot passionate love making between Alexia and VanWolf and Cathen's painful suppression of desire for his mate. I was captivated on the trek from the first sentence to the very last word. It then that I discovered Chocolate Temptation is a sequel to Chocolate Damsel.
Make no mistake; Chocolate Temptation is a fabulous sensuous stand alone paranormal novel; and I plan to read Chocolate Damsel soon. ac Mason delivers intrigue, adventure, physical interaction and serves it all on a silver platter enticing and fulfilling the palates of both male and female readers. I highly recommend the novel Chocolate Temptation to readers who enjoy interracial lovers with high energy, edgy, action packed heroics chockfull of tender, loving intimate relationships that you can sink your teeth into.
This book picks up right where the last book left off. The pack is on the move again, staying ahead of Alexia's pursuers. Danger lurks around every bend and the new-minted Shunu has a steep learning curve with her new people. There is so much no one is telling her and it ends up almost costing her everything.
Since Alexia chose VanWolfe in the last book, Cathen has gotten more distant and short with her. His heart still calls for her despite Alexia's choice in VanWolfe. He tries, rather successfully to push her away so he can stop feeling for her.
In the end, I was amused with the book. It is a short read and entertaining. I was a little put off by how quickly Alexia seemed to get over VanWolfe and how hard she pushed Cathen away when they'd had a spark before. Ideally, I would have liked to have seen them become friends and develop the bond. The wolf part of the Shunu seems to be driven by sex and lust and apparently need sexual release to free themselves from mourning and from going feral.
This is another quick read and I really hope the author continues the storyline and evolves the characters. I would also like for her to show us a little more of the history of Nazi Europe, especially since that is the author's background and history, growing up hearing the stories.
This novel picks back up where the 1st book leaves off. The pack is in danger and abuzz with trying to keep empath Alexia out of the hands of the Nazis. Still filled with savory and titillating naughty bits the story will keep you interested until the end.
