A sweet, humorous picture book about how dreams can come true in the most unlikely places---a perfect bedtime story!
Wendy is a sheep with a dream. She spends her days mostly eating and sleeping...but she secretly wishes she could fly! One day Wendy does a kind favor for a fairy, who in turn grants Wendy her one wish. And so Wendy sets off on the adventure of a lifetime--she flies across land and sea, to the moon and the stars and beyond. Soon, Wendy must return back home to save her fellow sheep from a prowling wolf. Though Wendy is tired from her exciting journeys, she has learned a magical lesson-- that dreams really CAN come true!
A happy go lucky sheep gets a wish from helping a fairy. Even though the sheep wasn’t looking for a wish it helps her flock in the end.
If only we all could be like this little sheep only want for eating and sleeping. Even without wants there is still danger hidden in the bushes.
I think this is a cute story. No real moral to it but cute. Repetitive at times but that does not take away from the picture book. Can’t help but wonder what happen to the sheep after the wish.
I feel that this book is appropriate for first to third graders. This book is a proposed level L. I really enjoyed this book. It had great illustrations on every page, and it was funny. This book might be confusing to some students though because some of the text is all over the page and upside down. There is also some vocabulary in here that students may have never seen, or might not know how to pronounce. I do not believe there are any awards for this book.
Should be read for creative writing or sequencing for a Kindergarten class. Not much substance, although my daughters have always loved this book. Illustrations are vibrant and very imaginative. Could be weaved into a lesson on manners, because the sheep was helpful to the fairy and was later rewarded.
Ye olde was-it-a-dream-or-wasn't-it story, sheep style. The book started out by having me read "eating grass" 15 times in a row on page 2. Went uphill from here, but still nothing I'd recommend.
I liked this book because it was very imaginative, creative, humerus, with very interesting and creative illustrations. You never know what a helpful sheep who follows her dreams can do. D.C
