I read “The Abrahamic Revolution” in preparation for a workshop I am leading at a missions conference. Todd Ahrend, the author, does a super job in showing how God has a concern for all nations and how He has enacted a plan from the beginning of time to bring the nations back to Himself.

Ahrend’s book is divided in three sections: 1) The Word: how the gospel for all peoples is a theme that runs like a golden thread throughout the entire Bible, 2) The World which gives a rundown of the five major religions of the world and 3) The Work: how each Christian can be involved in fulfilling the Great Commission. It’s hard to cover everything in one volume. Ahrend does well to cover three major topics of which volumes have been written about each topic. I think his middle section was the weakest. He gave good info and I learned a lot about the different people groups. However, I wished for more information on how to approach the people from each group. What’s the bridge I need to construct to help people move from say, Buddhism to Christianity?

His third section is the best. I feel so inspired! He emphasizes how every Christian needs to have a mindset that it is our responsibility to be involved even in what we consider a small way to reach all peoples with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every missions committee needs to make this book required reading for each committee member!

This is a wonderful book for every Christian to read. Ary you a world Christian? Do you know what that means? Read this book and you will know and perhaps be motivated to become one. I highly recommend it. The author's previous book "In this Generation: Looking to the Past to reach the Present" is also a great book that I highly recommend.

Amazing. Everyone should read this book!!
First few chapters are a basic foundation of missions, and defines unreached and unengaged people groups. He breaks down the acronym for the unengaged THUMB (Tribal, Hindu, Chinese, Muslim, and Buddhist) and what they believe and what reaching them looks like. Then he speaks of the value of going, sending, welcoming, and mobilizing. Throughout the book he speaks of the "World Christian", which is supposed to be very Christian! Every Christian is meant to not be passive but actively involved and invested in people from every tribe and tongue coming to worship the Lamb!!!

Amazing book that explains the Biblical basics of world missions and the need for everyone to play a role in God’s mission! Also you gain a great understanding for the major world religions and where the need is to take the Gospel.

I really enjoyed this! Compared to In This Generation, this one has more information that you don’t get in his talks all the time. I love the specific chapters about the world religions and they were super helpful!!

This is a fantastic book in every respect. It starts by laying out a strong, well argued, Biblical basis (using old and new testaments) for world missions. Todd Ahrend puts it all on the table, with a crystal clear vision. Next, The Abrahamic Revolution enters an almost textbook like form, where you actually learn the basics of for most of the major cultures/religions across the world, from tribal cultures, to Hinduism and Islam. It's a bit of a crash, and leaves a lot out, but if you're like the typical American, you probably don't know anything about anything outside of your own little world. It's interesting and I learned quite a bit. Finally, it ends with a resounding call to action, and really brings it home when it shows what a "world christian" truly is, and how all Christians ARE world Christians, whether they think they are or want to be or not. I highly recommend this book.

I heard Todd speak at my Perspectives class. He is an excellent speaker and his experience is moving. This book patterns the structure of the class and I wanted to read it to reinforce my learning. I am about 1/3 through and I like his style and the flow. Like the class it is very informative and is strengthening my faith journey and putting clarity to how God has called me and us all in His mission journey.

Bought this after listening to Todd speak during our perspectives class and read it while on a business trip. The best part of the entire book for me came in the introduction: "The way we spend our moments is the way we spend our lives. The measure of my life will be the sum total of all the little choices I make on a day-by-day, moment-by-moment basis."

It was basically the Perspectives class, and it could have been a lot, lot shorter. But he did a good job on biblical and historical support.
