Every Revolution Has A Cause. This One Is To Change The Way We Think.

Although there may be hundreds of books written on the subject of using the incredible power of the internet to communicate, few are as laser focused as this one. If your goal is to be a successful business person in today's world, this book is a must-read.

My brother asked, "Hey, what are you reading?" After I told him the title, he said sarcastically, "Well, that sounds like a fun read."
He probably thought I had to read it for work. I wasn't.

My reply, "Well actually, I'm really enjoying reading this."

The book is written in a friendly, casual voice while providing useful information on the major Social Networking platforms of today; Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, and Blogs. While there was information that I already knew there was that much more that I didn't know.

I had had a barely used Twitter account. Now, I have an active and growing Twitter account. I now know of Twellow and Hootsuite, and am employing the helpful tips the Author's have given for these sites. Many of the ideas presented in this book also can be kept in mind when going to other networking sites not mentioned in the book.

Why should you bother with any of this Social Networking business? Branding, finding and communicating with new and existing customers. Providing value to others. All of which, leads to sales.

From the books back cover:
*Change your focus from selling to marketing
*Expand your sphere of influence
*Become a value generator
*Build your personal brand

This was the best book I’ve read so far pertaining to information on blogs. I recommend this book to anyone who might be interested in starting and maintaining a blog. I also recommend this book to anyone looking for a source of information that explains the individual benefits of each social media company, along with the benefits of combining them all together.

A bit dated but a decent review of social media basics. Biggest takeaway was to use different approaches and techniques for each platform. The principle still applies with updates and newer social media sites and apps.

Significantly changed the way I view the role of social media in my career as a salesman. Showing tangible results (ie. actual new sales) after just a few months.
