In Porch Swings and Picket Fences: Four American Love Stories, readers will find not just one, but four delightful tales of love–each written by one of the foremost authors of Christian romance fiction. All four evoke familiar warm feelings, and a sense of getting back to the basics with feel-good stories about characters readers love.

From Vermont to Iowa, Texas to Washington State, Porch Swings and Picket Fences spins the tales of four couples who find love where they least expect it–right under their noses–and leaves readers with a sense of satisfaction and hope that will bring joy to their hearts.

Now, this is the kind of book I need to read when life is crazy and I just need something happy and funny. These are cute love stories, and I especiy like how all of these people love the Lord. I am going to look for books by each individual author also.

This is a collection of novellas. I really enjoyed the last two. The first two fell flat. It's hard to have sufficient character and story development, but the stories Texas two step and the boy next door delivered.

These four novellas are fun and quick reads for readers interested in a bit of fluff. The stories are all love stories that feature different stories that speak about small town life in America and the attraction some people feel to this way of life. While the portraits are at times overly idealized, they do offer a charming perspective on small town America and like a hallmark movie make a delightful setting for romance.

The story by Lisa Tawn Bergren features a big city girl coming to a small Iowa town to restore some stained glass windows. While there, she falls in love with the pastor of the church, but cannot see how she can make her work as a window restorer work in a small town. However, the two eventually work it out so that she can move to Iowa.

These are sweet novellas about love and small town life, a bit idealized of course, but they're fun.
