Lionesses & Lemmings
When Jackson grew tired of humanity, he made a flippant wish to be rid of them. While Fenix is unknown as an author, I actually really liked this book. I totally understand that it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I was really impressed with how he captured an element of romance within Science-Fiction. If you're particularly cynical about the world, I genuinely believe that you'd enjoy the sardonic humour that pops itself up from time to time in the book. It is clearly written by someone who has serious beef with the world.
Is the book perfect? Not by a long shot. There's a lot of messy dialogue, and quite a few characters with strange names that appear and then disappear without really adding that much to the story.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely! I mean don't go in expecting Mark Twain, Jane Austen or any other classic literature. It's Science-Fiction/Fantasy and it makes no attempt to distance itself from that.
I also like that we're not really supposed to love the main character, nor is he an anti-hero, which is an overplayed trope in literature nowadays. While the human is the protagonist, it really is the lionesses who play the vital role in the progression of the novel.
I have a feeling that Fenix is beginning to create a wider world, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was to release the next book in the series that adds to or explains more of it.
Bottom line, if you want a decent Science-Fiction/Fantasy adventure that doesn't try to be too fancy, you might as well give it a try!

I'm not usually a Science-Fiction fan, but this book had enough elements of Fantasy (a genre I really like) to keep me entertained. The way the lionesses are written is interesting, and I felt more of a connection to Xanthia than any of the others - makes sense as she's the secondary protagonist. The conflicted relationships between Catzi, Xanthia and Jackson are interesting, and I truly believe that we have all wished that humans would disappear at some point or another in our lives.
The only thing I wasn't sure on was the ending, but I suppose that Fenix is setting up for a series in future. I think someone else wrote that in their reviews as well, so it's worth keeping in mind if you are considering reading it. That being said, this is way better than some of the nonsense that comes about by big name authors! I hope to see some more romance in the future books if there are any, but that's just my wish, it might not be everybody's wish.

English is not my first tongue, but I enjoy this book. It was more or less easy to read. Xanthia is strong, independent lady who I like a lot. She reminds me of girls I know in real life and it made me laugh lots.
Jackson is interesting guy, and I like the idea that there is a love story inside another story. I am tired of love stories between tiny girl who needs be saved and the big, strong, muscular man who saves her, boring. This story is very different. Jackson needs saving lots of times, Xanthia not at all.
You should read this for make you happy and sometimes laugh a little, though mostly serious. Sorry for bad English!
