I especially enjoyed Heather Rogers’ piece about refillable beverage containers. Learned a lot about that, and the "Keep America Beautiful" program. ...

Absolutely amazing book ! This collection contains poetry, fiction, non-fiction, photos, graphics, all the forms and styles one can image to discuss and illustrate "trash". The editor gave an in-depth and holistic selection of literary and non-literary works on the same topic, which for me as a reader, is so enriching. The reading experience is really fantastic. I didn't know reading a book entitled Trash would so fulfilling. Positively surprised.

In this collection, you will find a sci-fi based in 2029 Liaoning China -- a zero waste city, even corvids are erased. The man-made "utopia of yore" is so daunting and present; you will also find heart broken testimonies from Mexican mothers whose daughters were murdered and discarded like they were trash; in addition, poems on trash, people and family ties, etc.

Highly recommend and totally worth reading.

Buffalo had a garbage liberation front in 2001 that wrote a manifesto. Trash exhibits the limit of human knowledge. A more complete culture would be one that cared for its trash. Like an old teddy bear that has no more use, can't be fixed up at the teddy bear hospital, and goes to the dump with a history of care and love. There was also an article about mothers for justice. A group of mothers who live in a terrible place, where the police are corrupt, their daughters are murdered and because they are poor there is no justice. A mix of articles and photographs.
