Tools for Teams is a book that guides entrepreneurs, managers, and chief executive officers (CEO) in the process of building an effective team in the workplace. This book focuses on key topics such as how to have productive meetings, problem solving, choosing team members and creating a team charter. This book gives insight to executives on effective teams and provides the methods for creating effective teams not only in the workplace but in other environments as well.
There are many things I like about this book. For instance, it is very descriptive and informative. It provides these meticulous details by providing an introduction to a method of creating an effective team and then elaborates on those methods by using descriptive examples. This book is very detailed with its methods and gives the reader a clear understanding of the idea it is trying to convey to the reader. In addition to this, the author also adds a conclusion summarizing all the main points and clearing up any ideas that may perplex the reader. However, the book has some flaws. The books is very repetitive with some of its points such as problem solving and meetings which take away from its creativeness and makes the book mundane.
Despite redundant emphasis on key points, I would strongly recommend this book to aspiring executives. The book was very informative and detailed and gave me insight to things I did not know that should be happening within teams to make them productive. I will strongly advise outside the workplace, that involves teams, such as athletes or organizations that rely strongly rely on teams to read this book.
