A database is anything that keeps data records. It could be a file, CD, hard drive, or another kind of storage medium. From the perspective of programming, a database is a meticulously organized store of indexed data information that users may simply use for adding, removing, updating, and creating new data. There are two different kinds of relational databases and flat databases. Even if two kids have the same name, we can still distinguish between them based on things like their student ID, parents' names, dates of birth, siblings who attend the same school, etc. All of these material is related.
