"Had Armin Risi lived in classical times, he would now be counted among the great philosophers and theologians. Being a contemporary author, however, he is able to go beyond classical philosophy and shed light on problems, coverups, and challenges of today, using a revolutionary logic, or mytho-logic, as he calls it" -Professor Jorg Rehberg, Zurich

I love religious study, so I bought this book for that angle. Risi does some fascinating work in drawing connections between various religious traditions and finding their hidden commonalities, both abstract and concrete. He also explores a lot of interesting history that many/most would call "Conspiracy Theory" (the capitalized proper noun kind), which I personally enjoy purely from an entertainment standpoint, by which I mean I'm still very much on the fence about whether the big Hidden Agenda actually exists or a hallucination. To me, I find it fascinating regardless of whether or not it's true. To me, it's just great brain candy.

What I appreciate about Risi is that he is very balanced in his approach. Throughout the book, he projects an attitude of composure. The work isn't a hysterical exploration of inevitable impending doom. His attitude is more along the lines of, "I've done a lot of study on this, and I believe this is what's happening and what's going to happen, but I could always be wrong." You won't get any Alex Jones lunatic rants here.

What I appreciate most about this book is that it's ultimately very hopeful. It portrays a conscious universe that, while flawed and "broken" in some senses, is very much engaged with the spiritual development of all humanity, meaning every single one of us who is willing to listen...you, me, and everybody. Is it all true? I don't know. I honestly have no idea. But, Risi presents his case intelligently and carefully, with humility, and his vision of how the universe is actually built is rather beautiful and hopeful.

So, even if read as fiction (and I'm not saying I'm certain that it's purely fiction, either), it's a worthwhile, thought-provoking book.
