1. Once bear had a long tail and constantly showed it off to everyone around him because he thought it was great. Fox also had a very nice tail but got mad at bear because fox never show his off. So one day fox decides to pull a trick on bear. Fox told bear to stick his tail in the freezing cold water to catch the fish. When bear pulled his tail out it was short.

4. Students who like funny stories or enjoy reading funny books about animals will enjoy this.
5. In small groups the students can read this and talk about what couldve done instead of tricking bear.
6. As a whole class this book can be compared to bullying.

Cute little story. Sly crafty fox causes mischief in a short morality story about vanity.

This is a traditional folktale. I might use this in a first grade class and allow my students to do a little project with the book by creating drawings of the plot of the book.
